These Chanel Sandals Are Almost Too Beautiful to Wear

As far as brands go, few are as iconic as Chanel. The storied French label has been around for over a century and is often regarded as synonymous with all things luxury. Whether it be clothing, handbags, eyewear or accessories, if it has a Chanel logo on it, you can bet it is going to be coveted by the masses.  Where footwear is concerned, in recent years, the brand has reimagined quite a few of its most iconic items. From the dual-toned slingback pumps that were seen on the feet of almost every editor between 2016 and 2018 to the instantly recognizable espadrilles, which (in my opinion) are far too fancy for the beach, Chanel is known for producing wish list–worthy footwear. Of course, this summer is no different, as the label has created a selection of shoes that is just as in-demand as ...

These Party Shoes Are So Epic They Even Sold Out in Lockdown

Muaddi has been on the fashion scene for a while, but she only went solo with her shoe brand last year. Growing up in Italy was always an inspiration for Muaddi to want to design shoes, but she first sought out a career working at magazines—an invaluable network for any fledgeling designer. She attended the European Institute of Design and worked as a stylist at L’Uomo Vogue and GQ, ensuring she understood the world of fashion before completely fulfilling her dream. In pursuit of following in the legendary footsteps of footwear designers like Manolo Blahnik, Muaddi travelled to Italy’s famous shoe-making district, Riviera del Brenta, to learn the trade and co-founded her first brand, Oscar Tiye. Following that, Muaddi then moved to Paris, where she collaborated with French couturier Alexan...

The Best Brands to Shop From If You Love Simple Sandals

Minimalists have been having a ball this year, quite frankly. You’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s just about Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta and The Row‘s pared-back aesthetic but it’s so much more than that. The less-is-more look has permeated throughout all of fashion (with the exception of those brands with bold design DNAs), and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. A plainer, less fussy piece, whether it’s clothes or accessories, will work with everything else you already own. It’s a smart choice in many ways—it can help you shop less and ensure your wardrobe is as sustainable as possible.  You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with ...

These 6 Trainers Will Go With All of Your Summer Dresses

Lily Allen was probably the first person I remember making me love the trainers and dress combo. For her Smile video, she was pictured in an array of prom-style dresses paired with chunky white sneakers. For what it’s worth, the pink strappy dress layered with gold necklaces and finished off with gold hoops is still a look I love today, 14 years on. The impact of that look, I’d argue, is still felt today—with the frock and sneakers outfit remaining popular. Of course, it wouldn’t be fashion without looking at the newest way the fashion crowd is wearing said trend.  Firstly, you have to consider the dress. From puffed-sleeves to oversized as well as polka dot looks, there are plenty of styles that are very current. Secondly, it’s worth considering your acce...

Thousands and Thousands of People Search for These Chanel Shoes Every Month

When you ruminate on Chanel’s most iconic pieces, of course, handbags jump straight into view. Who can deny the decades-long tenure of a quilted 2.55? But if you put down the arm candy and step away from the tweed, there’s another Chanel icon that always rises in popularity in the summer months. One that encapsulates French Riviera dressing better than any other piece on the rail. Welcome to the reign of the Chanel espadrilles: an item that is searched for between 10,000 and 100,000 times a month, according to Google Analytics.  Now, while there’s plenty of love for the Chanel chunky Velcro sandals (just open Instagram and you’ll see dozens), it’s worth noting that these flats are chic yet comfortable and inimitably elegant. Really, there&#...

5 Jeans-and-Shoe Pairings That Go Together Every Time

We all know how versatile a pair of jeans can be. After all, what other garment can take you from date night to weekend with the same stylish flair and universal appeal? However, their ease is often dependent on another item: footwear. Shoes have the power to instantly change the mood of your jeans. For example, for a formal occasion, a pair of bejewelled flats will elevate your classic blues to glamorous new heights. Similarly, ballet pumps will add polish to ripped or frayed-hem jeans—simply add a tailored blazer and a button-down, and you’ve got yourself a chic ensemble. So which shoes would I recommend wearing with jeans? I’m glad you asked. I’ve whittled down the shoes to wear with jeans that I truly believe work for just about every occasion you can t...

Lupe Fiasco & Kaelin Ellis Release Ringle ‘SHOES’ ft. 50 aka Virgil Abloh

Source: Mark Sagliocco / Getty One of Rap’s most slept on wordsmiths is linking with younger talent. Lupe Fiasco is prepping a new release manned by Kaelin Ellis. The Chicago MC and the Orlando producer have announced their collaborative EP HOUSE, out on July 24th. The announcement comes with the first single from the EP “SHOES” featuring Virgil Abloh. The HOUSE EP came together by chance — on May 5th, Lupe was tagged on Twitter in the replies of a Tweet from Kaelin Ellis, a young producer who had been posting clips of himself creating beats in lockdown. Reading “Get this to @LupeFiasco somehow,” Lupe listened, liked the beat, screen recorded Kaelin’s video, dropped it in GarageBand, freestyled over the beat, exported it in Quicktime, then Tweeted the song jus...

I Think I’ve Found the Perfect Minimalist Sandals—And They’re High Street

I talk about my love of chunky sandals often. The “uglier” the better, to be quite honest. Give me velcro straps, embellishments, and even a dash of leopard print—the louder the merrier is my mantra. But then again, I’m a fickle being (I do work in fashion, after all), and I can always been swayed by a more minimalist approach to sandals. There are a few around right now, but there’s one pair that caught my eye recently. The sandals in question are from Dune and are black with one black strap and one beige—a minimalist’s dream. They don’t sound exciting, I’ll give you that but the matte finish as well as the gold-coloured buckles give them a real luxe look. Arguably, if you want the correct description, the shoes are sliders but these aren’t ...

I Think This One Pair of Sandals Looks Good With Every Outfit

As someone who became a teenager in the ’90s, casual sportswear was a big deal. Britpop stars such as Damon Albarn and Liam Gallagher were often spotted wearing Adidas zip-ups and T-shirts. The Spice Girls had Sporty Spice, whose whole “thing” was wearing sportswear. Then, in 1997 Jason Nevins’s remix of Run-D.M.C.’s “It’s Like That” came out, and it once again made me consider sportswear in a way I hadn’t before. I loved how casual it was but how, when kept pristine, it still looked smart. I could probably go on, but all of these above influences played a role in my love of layering casual sports tops, trousers and sneakers into my own wardrobe. There are three vintage Adidas pieces I wear regularly: a pair of ...

5 Sandals That Are Trending for Summer 2020

Just because we’re mainly staying inside our houses, balconies or (if we’re lucky) gardens, that doesn’t mean we can’t still spend five minutes looking at shoes. Anything too high or too sparkly is retiring to the back of our wardrobes, for the time being, but sandals (once they are sufficiently worn in, of course) can conveniently double as slippers. We’ve already brought you the sandal trends that are leading this year, but there are five sandal styles, in particular, that I keep spotting on my Instagram feed. One pair is close to our hearts, as Who What Wear has just launched shoes. Our thong sandals in white, snake and black have been particularly popular with our friends. Arizona Love’s Velcro-strap sandals are as cheery as they get thanks...

This Parisian Just Showed Me Her Epic Shoe Collection

There is honestly no great mystery as to why some people possess an all-encompassing love for shoes. It’s because even when you’re wearing an outfit that makes you feel a bit meh, a great pair of shoes can suddenly make it feel perfect. But there are a few people who have really curated an impeccable shoe wardrobe. One such person is Ellie Delphine, also known as Slip Into Style. The influencer and stylist is originally from Martinique but is currently living in Paris. I’ve been a follower of her page for over a year and her knack of not just finding the coolest new shoes, but knowing how to style them is rarely rivalled. (She’d give Carrie Bradshaw a run for her, well, shoes.) It’s why I decided to interview her on all things footwear and glean some...
