Ahem: there are only 81 days until Shambhala. After a two-year hiatus, Shambhala Music Festival—Canada’s longest-running independent dance music gathering—will return for its 23rd edition from July 22-25, 2022. In anticipation of the return to the farm, organizers have now unveiled Shambhala’s stage-by-stage lineups, highlighting one per day. Having trouble deciphering each stage? To make life easier, we’ve rounded up each lineup below. SHAMBHALA 2022: THE VILLAGE STAGE The Village Stage is a unique experience as attendees have the option of roaming the crowd at ground-level or climbing the stairs to the treehouse, where walkways above weave and intertwine around the entirety of The Village’s parameters. After the unfortunate postponement of the famed Canadian music festival two years in a row, Shambhala is set to return to the Salmo River Ranch next summer. The 23rd edition of the family-run festival was initially slated for July 2020, but due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns the gathering was rescheduled for late August 2021. Unfortunately, the event was then shelved for a second time earlier this year. Alas, thousands of attendees will be welcomed to return to the festival for what may very well be the greatest “Farmily” reunion of all-time from July 22nd to 25th, 2022. Organizers have not yet announced a lineup for the 2022 event, but fans are safe to expect a stellar list of artists for the grand return of the festival. Over 300 performers w...
Shambhala is the latest music festival to cash in its chips due to the uncertainty of COVID-19. Citing the impact of the pandemic, the organizers of the Canadian dance music fest, which takes place annually at Salmo River Ranch, have pulled the plug on the event’s 2021 edition. Originally scheduled for late July 2020, the festival was eventually moved to August 20-23, 2021 before its postponement to 2022. Ticket-holders may redeem their passes across Shambhala’s 2022, 2023 or 2024 events. Prospective attendees and lodgers were told to expect to receive an email “in the coming months” to register for the year they’d like to attend. The 2021 edition of Shambhala Music Festival has been postponed due to the impact of COVID-19. Shambhala Music Festival (via Twitte...
While festival season is still very much up in the air, Shambhala Music Festival just gave fans something to look forward to in summer 2021. In an announcement posted on the festival’s Facebook page, festival founder Jimmy Bundschuh announced that his family farm—where the festival takes place—will be open as a campground in summer 2021. While many festivals rent space to produce their event, Shambhala is in a unique position to pivot to the campground model since the owners live and work on the farm all yearlong. “I know so many people have missed being on the farm this past summer, swimming in the Salmo River, camping and relaxing in our beautiful valley,” Bundschuh wrote. “Please rest assured during 2020 the team wasn’t sitting back waiting for life to ...
A glimpse of hope for music festival fans surfaced over the weekend when the famed Canadian dance music fest, Shambhala Music Festival, announced plans to return to the Salmo River Ranch in 2021. Originally, the festival was set to run in late July 2020, but to err on the side of caution, Shambhala will now take place from August 20th to 23rd, 2021. Although it is a ways away, the new announcement gives festival-goers something to look forward to. In the meantime, it is important to remain positive and stay informed about the country’s health and safety protocols. Tickets purchased for the 2020 iteration of Shambhala are redeemable for the next three years. In order to confirm redemption, ticket-holders have been asked to determine their desired year of attendance and the ...
