Today, the internet can feel like a sex distribution mechanism that is only occasionally interrupted by selfies and memes. But that wasn’t always the case, as director Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) makes clear in the new trailer for Pam & Tommy. Starring Sebastian Stan as Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and Lily James as a dead ringer for Baywatch‘s Pamela Anderson, Pam & Tommy dramatizes the sex-tape theft that proved how incorrigibly horny everyone is, as well as what happens when two real people get caught in the crossfire. The tale begins in 1995, when a disgruntled contractor named Rand Gauthier (Seth Rogen, also executive producing) broke into a safe and discovered the tape. Along with Milltie (Nick Offerman), he decided to try and make some money. “...
Here at Consequence, we’re not typically ones to bash a little recreational cannabis or Delta-8 use before a live music event. Seth Rogen, however, learned the hard way that if you choose to go that route, you might want to double-check that the event isn’t being taped for national television: As the comedian divulged during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night (December 1st), he arrived at a recent Adele concert, stoned and ready, only to discover that the show was being taped for the singer’s two-hour CBS special, Adele One Night Only. “I got an invitation — ‘do you want to go to a small Adele concert?’ is what I remember absorbing,” Rogen began. “[My wife Laurie and I] were like, ‘it’s an Adele concert! It’s in the park!’ We smoked a ton of weed,...

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-26T17:05:01+00:00“>May 26, 2021 | 1:05pm ET Seth Rogen has spent his career cracking jokes about everything from prepubescent struggles to political stereotypes, and most of it is quite literally captured on film. It may come as a surprise, then, that Rogen is distancing himself from fellow comedians who believe cancel culture will be the death of their industry. In a new interview with Good Morning Britain, Rogen said that he’s accepted some jokes in his older movies have aged poorly because that’s “the nature of comedy,” not “cancel culture.” “I think conceptually those movies are sound and I think there’s a reason they’ve lasted. Jokes are not things that necessarily are built...

The Pitch: Robert Kirkman, the comic book creator behind the monolithic The Walking Dead, also started a long running and much beloved superhero comic books series the same year as the zombie epic. This one, instead, takes a deep dive into the nuanced life of teenager-turned-superhero Mark Grayson. Mark is the son of Nolan and Debbie Grayson, he’s in high school, and riding the waves that most teenagers must endure: relationships, his first job, friendships, and school. The big difference with Mark, however, is that his father is the most powerful superhuman on the entire planet, Omni-Man. So, when Mark begins to develop his own powers, his life suddenly becomes a crash course on balancing his day-to-day and his own superheroics. Things take an even sharper turn, though, when a horrific mu...
Two years ago, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg launched their mid-century modern cannabis line, Houseplant, in their native Canada. Now, the brand is officially crossing the border, as it will soon be available in the United States. Well, at least one part of the US. California residents will soon be able to purchase the company’s three strains of marijuana flower — indica, sativa, and hybrid — via the to-be-launched Houseplant website. Each varietal is named after weather patterns, like the 33% THC (that’s a lot!) sativa strain Pancake Ice. No word yet on when or if the brand’s pre-rolled joints, soft-gel capsules, and two flavors of carbonated beverage (grapefruit and lemon) will follow suit. While the actual weed will only be available in Cali to start, Houseplant’s new home good...
Robert Kirkman has become thought of largely as a horror creator, thanks to the blockbuster adaptation and subsequent spin-offs of his The Walking Dead comic and Cinemax’s short-lived Outcast series. But the comic writer has also put his unique spin on the superhero world, and one of his caped characters is finally making its way to TV. Amazon Prime Video’s new Invincible animated series is set to debut on March 26th, and the streamer has today released the first trailer. Co-created by illustrator Cory Walker, Invincible ran for 144 issues from Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment (via Image Comics) between 2003 and 2016. The book was notable for its quick-hitting and madcap take on superheroes, pairing bright, cartoon-y visuals with ultraviolence and gore. That youthful look and adult feel wi...
Throughout quarantine, many of us have picked up new hobbies like baking bread, sewing quilts, playing board games, or exercising. Seth Rogen also has a new pastime: calling Ted Cruz a fascist and telling him to “fuck off”. As Uproxx points out, the 38-year-old actor has made it his mission to tweet insults at the 50-year-old Texas senator/pathetic MAGA loyalist for being, well, a conniving piece of shit. On January 20th, the uniquely unlikable Cruz decided to engage with Rogen when the vocal anti-Trumper responded to Cruz’s dimwitted criticism of Biden rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement with a terse, “Fuck off you fascist”. Cruz replied by quote-tweeting Rogen with some insufferable bullshit about him being a rich Hollywood celebrity, and Rogen again responded concisely: “Hah...
