Alcohol, for those who imbibe, is an effective social lubricant. Not great for memory recall, though. Seth Meyers and Post Malone put their boozing talents — and knowledge of each other — to the test, when they stopped by Manhattan’s The Waylon for a daytime session. “It’s gonna be a fun one,” says Posty after demolishing his first of many, all of which was captured for Meyers’ Late Night show. Playing bartender, Meyers served up some questions, and some filthy looking drinks. Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news The liquid flowed, the answers, well, not so much, as the pair quizzed one another on tattoos, names and places. Posty walked us through the progression to his own-brand of rosé, Maison No. 9. “You smoke a cigarette, then you ...
Bad news for those hoping to catch Late Night with Seth Meyers this week: Its titular host announced today (January 4th) that he had tested positive for COVID-19, and was therefore canceling the week’s remaining scheduled episodes. “The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!),” Meyers wrote on Twitter. “The good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!) We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” New York City has been hit especially hard with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. Numerous live music events have been canceled in precaution, and late-night hosts are certainly not exempt: Just yesterday, Jimmy Fallon announced that he had tested positive on t...
After releasing just four songs, Wet Leg have earned a considerable amount of buzz from websites just like this one, and last night the British indie rockers stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers for a performance of “Chaise Longue.” The track appears on the band’s upcoming self-titled debut album, due out April 8th, 2022 via Domino. Wet Leg founders Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers clearly enjoyed making their US TV debut, exchanging sly glances while getting away with singing tongue-in-cheek lyrics like “I went to school and I got the big D” on air. Further showing off their wry humor, “Chaise Longue” also alludes to a scene from Mean Girls (“Would you like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?”). Watch Wet Leg’s performance below. Fueled by a chugging guitar riff, it’...
For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, Late Night host Seth Meyers brought back his wildly entertaining segment “Day Drinking.” If you haven’t seen it before, it’s basically just an excuse for Meyers to get shit faced with a celebrity — or, in the case of last night’s episode, a royal. Lorde and Meyers hit the New York City hot spot Zero Bond for an afternoon of over consumption. What began with Meyers making the New Zealand singer cocktails inspired by her own songs quickly devolved into some hilarious drinking games, including one in which Lorde and Meyers had to identify particular royals — or, else take a shot of Crown Royal. Another drinking game involved Meyers having to recite Lorde’s real name in full — or, else take a shot. Still another saw Lorde and Meyers paint...
Julien Baker supported the release of her brilliant new solo album Little Oblivions with an appearance on Monday’s edition of Late Night with Seth Meyers. Accompanied by a full band, Baker delivered a stirring performance of the album’s opening track, “Hardline”. Catch the replay below. Little Oblivions, Baker’s third solo album to date, was released last Friday. In her review of the album for Consequence, Natalia Barr called Little Oblivions a remarkable and devastatingly honest listen that finds Baker searching for answers that refuse to come easily. Also revisit Baker’s recent appearance on Going There with Dr. Mike, where she spoke candidly about her history with depression and OCD. HBO Max is developing a Batman spin-off series for TV, and apparently they’re crafting a Batman miniseries for your ears, too. Say hello to Batman: The Audio Adventures, a new podcast by HBO Max starring Jeffrey Wright as the Caped Crusader. Don’t expect it to get too dark, however, because the roll call also includes comedic actors like Seth Meyers, Jason Sudeikis, and dozens more. Written and directed by Dennis McNicholas, Batman: The Audio Adventures is a multi-episode series that’s putting “a comedic take” on the Dark Knight, notes The Hollywood Reporter. It’s separate from DC’s multi-year deal with Spotify — which includes the new Batman Unburied podcast written by David S. Goyer — and as such it will hit WarnerMedia’s streaming service sometime in 2021. To help draw out the laug...
Killer Mike and Seth Meyers discussed the unprecedented raid on the U.S. capitol, with the Run the Jewels rapper calling the events of Jan. 6 “evil. It is I-didn’t-get-my-way-ism. I don’t encourage what we saw,” he said on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night. He added, “essentially, it is violence.” The Atlanta-based rapper also shared his thoughts about the newly elected Democratic senators from his home state. On Rev. Raphael Warnock, a pastor and politician, Mike joked, “I’ll tell you one of the most beautiful things I saw. He ran a commercial holding a puppy. Because who could hate a person holding a puppy?” “More genius, I thought,” Mike added, was an opposing campaign video which called Warnock a “radical socialist.” Noting that he himself was not a member of any Abraham...
My Morning Jacket appeared on Seth Meyers on Thursday to perform their song “Climbing the Ladder”. It was the band’s third late-night performance behind The Waterfall II, and a pattern has definitely emerged. When MMJ previously appeared on Fallon and Kimmel, each member performed their part alone in front of a single backdrop and then the shots were layered on top of each other. For Meyers, the concept was much the same, though the execution was unique. Instead of overlaying the various shots, the band cut it all together in ever alternating panels, a playful yet effective editing that matched the track’s carnival atmosphere. Watch the replay of My Morning Jacket’s “Climbing the Latter” performance below. Editors’ Picks In addition to The Waterfall II, MMJ released a trio of live al...

HAIM have really got this “appearing on a late night talk show during quarantine” thing down. Last month, they set up outside of Los Angeles’ The Forum for a performance on Kimmel. Then on Thursday night, the siblings brought Halloween — and a special guest — to Seth Meyers. The trio’s rendition of “3 AM” from their latest LP, Women in Music Pt. III, opened with a call from Robert Pattinson. Listed in HAIM’s phone as “Emotional Vampire” (get it? ‘Cause of Twilight? You get it…), Pattinson recreated the booty-call intro from the album version of the song. After sending him to voicemail, the band revealed themselves in wedding gowns as (slightly) undead brides set in an exceedingly well-lit backyard. The vibe put a spooky sheen on the R&B jam, including a comically threatening call ...
