Registration: JAMB introduces USSD code

File Photo The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) says the board will introduce the use of USSD code as an option to the SMS process of generating a profile code for registration. This, it said, was part of measures it had put in place to address some challenges experienced by candidates of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a news briefing at the board’s headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, on Monday. Oloyede said the use of the USSD code would commence from Friday, April 30. Senate considers bill to unbundle NIPOST

The Senate has commenced moves to unbundle the Nigerian Postal Service with the consideration of a bill to repeal and re-enact the Nigerian Postal Service Act 2004. The bill which scaled second reading on Tuesday was sponsored by Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC, Lagos Central). Leading the debate on the general principles of the bill, Tinubu said the piece of legislation seeks a reform of the Postal Industry and to make Comprehensive Provisions for the Development and Regulation of Postal Services in Nigeria. Nigerian government urged to lift restrictions on SIM card registration

A telecommunications expert in Owerri, the Imo capital, Mr Charles Okeke, has advised the Federal Government to remove the restrictions placed on SIM card registration. Okeke gave the advice at a news briefing in Owerri on Tuesday, while speaking on the effects of the federal government’s SIM Card-National Identification Number (NIN) linkage policy. He urged the government to embrace a more robust system that would encourage healthy partnership between the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and service providers to ensure a seamless linkage. NCC: Telcos to roll over subscriber’s unused data

Fix Africa News Magazine The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has instructed telecommunication companies to henceforth roll over subscriber’s unused data to subsequent data subscription. In a statement on Thursday by the NCC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Adinde, said the agency reached the conclusion during its bi-annual meeting with Senior Executives of telecommunication companies on complaints management. Cross River task resort vendors on post-coronavirus guidelines

Cross River Tourism Bureau, has tasked vendors and service providers in the Marina Resort, Calabar on need to maintain high level Customer Service Standards in line with the post COVID-19 guidelines. The Managing Director of the Bureau, Mr Utsu Atsu, made the call during a one-day training workshop organised by the Bureau for vendors and services providers operating in the Resort in Calabar.
