Abia: Police to investigate murder of widow as gateman flees

The Abia State Police Command has declared manhunt for a fleeing gateman in Umuahia after the lifeless body of a widow was discovered in the pool of her blood. The victim, Mrs. Queeneth Alozie, a retired nurse from the Federal Medical Centre FMC Umuahia, was allegedly slaughtered on Sunday morning by yet-to be identified assailant(s). Until her death, Mrs Alozie was the wife of a late Dr. Alozie from Isingwu Umuahia, the owner of the famous Obioma Hospital at School Road Umuahia. She was living alone in their mansion opposite the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia, BCA, as the children are said to be based abroad. ‘Assault’: Group demands removal of CCT chairman

The Access to Justice (A2Justice) group has demanded the immediate removal of Danladi Umar as chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for alleged abuse of power. Umar was caught on video hitting a security man who had told him his vehicle was parked in the wrong space at a popular plaza in Abuja. In his defence, Ibraheem Al-Hassan, CCT spokesperson, said the guard was rude and could not provide a reasonable explanation why Umar should not park in the said space. Man docked for ‘stealing’ chicken breeders

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Friday brought a 48-year-old security man, Peter Sanbe, before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing chicken breeders. Newsmen report that Sanbe of an undisclosed address, was docked on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and unlawful neglect of duty. According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Catherine Michael, Sanbe and others still at large, did conspire to commit the offence. Michael said that Sanbe, who was employed on Dec. 9, 2020 by NASTECH Farm, allegedly stole 84 chicken breeders on Dec. 30, 2020.
