This weekend, fans of Porter Robinson will descend on the Bay Area for the third chapter in the saga of Second Sky, the Nurture artist’s curated music festival. This year’s fest will feature a special headline set from Robinson himself, as well as a hotly anticipated B2B between his Virtual Self alias and G Jones. Crunchyroll Is Developing a Special “Anime Music Experience” at Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Music Festival

Porter Robinson and Crunchyroll are teaming up for a bespoke “anime music experience” at Second Sky, the electronic music star’s curated music festival in the Bay Area. According to a press release shared with EDM.com, the “Anime Shelter” experience will feature DJs from Tokyo’s iconic Akihabara anime nightclub, MOGRA, who are set to return to the states for the first time since 2019. It’s felt like a lifetime since Porter Robinson’s legendary side project, Virtual Self, went underwater in 2019. This year, Porter Robinson is turning his flagship Second Sky Music Festival into a Halloween party. He announced the 2022 edition via a video featuring his lovable mascot, DJ Potaro, in an animated pumpkin patch swathed in the autumn sunset. After bursting from a pumpkin and revealing himself, Potaro gives way to the announcement that this year’s festival will be moving to Halloween weekend. Porter Robinson Announces Return of Second Sky Music Festival and Dates

Nearly two years ago, electronic music wunderkind Porter Robinson held his inaugural Second Sky Music Festival in Oakland, California and received rave reviews for his performances under his main alias and Virtual Self project. In the time since, as the world crumbled under lockdown due to safety measures surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Robinson hosted two streaming iterations of the festival, cleverly coined Secret Sky.
