While hosting Saturday Night Live last night, the actress went over some of her accomplishments, including starring in Jordan Peele’s Nope, and also revealed that she was pregnant during her opening monologue. “There’s some rumors going around,” she said from the stage. “People have been in my comments saying Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant, and I want to set the record straight…I am.” With that, she ripped open her jacket and proudly revealed her baby bump. Congratulations, Keke. Who loves a Kenan and Kel reunion? SNL loves a Kenan and Kel reunion. More than two decades after their beloved Nickelodeon series signed off the air, the duo reunited for a sketch on this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live. Without spoiling too much, SNL host Keke Palmer pitched Kenan Thompson on a dramatic reboot of Kenan & Kel, with Palmer appearing in place of Kel Mitchell. Thompson obliged, setting the stage for a return to Rigby’s convenience store, a whole lot of orange soda, and a surprise cameo from Mitchell himself. Watch below. Kenan and Kel have reunited on several other occasions in recent years, including for a Good Burger sketch on The Tonight Show in 2015 and at the 2022 Emmy Awards. Bowen Yang just can’t get it straight in this week’s Saturday Night Live promo featuring SZA and host Keke Palmer. “Hi, I’m Keke Palmer and I’m hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest SZA,” Nope star Palmer says in the first video bit. “And I’m Brown Yang and we’re gonna have such a… did i just say ‘Brown Yang?’,” an embarrassed Yang asks this week’s guests as they laugh nervously. “I can’t even read my own name. Sorry Guys! I am Bowen Young and we’re gonna… oh my God. Brown Yung! What’s happening right now?,” a melting down Yang stammers. “Are you okay Bowen?,” a concerned Palmer asks. He assures her he’s totally fine and repeats his first name as evidence, before inexplicably calling himself “Cohen Yang” and then insisting that he’s Bravo star Andy Cohen and then, once a...
Steve Martin is set to join Saturday Night Live’s illustrious 16th Timers’ Club when he co-hosts the late-night sketch show with Only Murders in the Building co-star Martin Short on December 10th. The upcoming episode will mark Martin’s 16th time hosting SNL, and though he has made a number of guest appearances over the years, it’s been 13 years since he last hosted an episode. That prolonged period between between gigs allowed Alec Baldwin to break Martin’s previous record for most episodes hosted. (Baldwin has top-lined the show 17 times.) Short has also made several guest appearances in recent years, but this will mark his first time hosting SNL since 2012 — and the fourth time in his career. Martin and Short will co-host an episode featuring musical guest Brandi Carlile, who previously...
Dave Chappelle will host Saturday Night Live’s November 12th episode alongside musical guest Black Star, the hip-hop duo of Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey, a.k.a. Mos Def. In what has become something of a tradition, Chappelle is once again tasked with hosting the first SNL episode following a major US election. He previously hosted shows following presidential elections in 2016 and 2020; now, he’ll return to Studio 8H for the first episode in the wake of the 2022 midterms. Chappelle will be joined by Black Star, making their SNL debut. The duo recently released their sophomore album, No Fear of Time, through Luminary, the podcast network which counts Chappelle as among its main investors. Kanye West’s latest public meltdown added a depressing new chapter when he was escorted out of Skechers’ corporate office this week — an incident Saturday Night Live lampooned on its latest episode. The comedy show addressed West’s antisemitism-fueled downfall with a sketch from the point of view of Skechers, a company that finally earned some clout when it refused to work with the rapper. If you’ve forgotten, Kanye approached Skechers about a business partnership after both adidas and Gap ended their respective relationships with him following a slew of antisemitic comments. Skechers, of course, didn’t want to be associated with West either, and he was escorted out of the company’s corporate headquarters. In the new sketch, SNL made a fake Skechers commercial in which the c...
Just in time for Halloween, David S. Pumpkins made his long-awaited return to Saturday Night Live. Tom Hanks made a surprise appearance on last night’s episode of SNL (Oct. 29th) to reprise the beloved character alongside his skeletal comrades played by Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan. (SNL alum Moynihan also appeared earlier in the episode to reprise his Drunk Uncle character). Hanks previously portrayed David S. Pumpkins twice during SNL’s 42nd season in 2016. The success of the character led SNL to create an animated Halloween special that aired in 2017. However, because of Moynihan’s departure from the show following Season 43, there had not been another opportunity for Hanks to reprise the character — until last night. When Saturday Night Live returned for Season 48 this fall, it was missing Melissa Villaseñor, who had been with the show since 2016 — her best bits showcasing her jaw-dropping impressions and sharp silly characters. For those missing her unique voice, though, there’s Whoops . . . I’m Awesome, her new book featuring stories about her life alongside her own original artwork and fun activities for adults (get your copy here). In the book, Villaseñor refers to her job as an SNL cast member in the present tense, because she finished writing the book this spring but made the decision to leave the show this summer. But, she says, “all these things were created during that time there. So I think it makes sense that it’s still present.” When it comes to the decision to leave the show, Villaseñor sa...
Megan Thee Stallion expertly delivered songs from her latest album while pulling double duty as host and musical guest during Saturday Night Live on Oct. 15. In between her hilarious sketches, the 27-year-old superstar rapper performed three tracks from her August-released sophomore album, Traumazine, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. For her first song, with an introduction by SNL cast member Bowen Yang, Meg channeled a beauty pageant while performing “Anxiety.” With a large tiara set as the backdrop, the rapper donned a beautiful red sequence dress while wearing a white sash that read “Miss Anxiety.” She was backed by numerous dancers who also wore sashes with such messages as “Overworked,” “Underpaid,” “Insecure,” “Overwhelmed” and “Overlooked.” Megan returned later in the sho...
Megan Thee Stallion showcased her comedy skills while pulling double duty as host and musical guest during Saturday Night Live on Oct. 15. The 27-year-old Houston rapper opened the iconic NBC sketch comedy show with a fiery monologue in which she addressed all of her various monikers. “If you know me, then you know I go by more than one name,” Meg said, rattling off titles like Tina Snow, the Hot Girl Coach and the H-Town Hottie. “And if you’re one of my many, many haters, I’m probably, ugh, ‘That B—-.’” She also playfully bragged about being a good actress and even demonstrated her best British accent. “Alright, check this out. Put me in Bridgerton, b—-,” said the rapper, who recently made a cameo in the Disney+ show She Hulk: Attorney at Law. Elsewhere on SNL, Megan appeared in num...
Saturday Night Live is really working the double-duty hosts/musical guests this season. Megan Thee Stallion just appeared as both last night (Oct. 15) and the show announced that Jack Harlow will be the next in line to host and perform on its Oct. 29 episode. It will be the first time Harlow hosts the late-night sketch show. Last year, he made his first appearance as the musical guest on the Maya Rudolph-hosted episode. Harlow has been cutting his hosting chops as of late, recently appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in which they split duties at the desk. In the episode, which aired on Oct. 6, Harlow helped Fallon with his monologue and interviewed guest Dwayne Wade. Ironically, Harlow followed Megan Thee Stallion in that role too. In addition to Megan Thee Stallion,...
