Watch Kaskade Perform From a Bird’s-Eye View of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge

Kaskade may be positioning himself as a wonder of the modern musical world.  As the lack of in-person shows persisted through 2020, Kaskade wholly embraced the idea of bringing dance music where it hasn’t gone before, and if recent events are any indication, his appetite for adventure remains alive and well.  First, he brought his show to the breathtaking Grand Canyon—one of the seven wonders of the natural world—where he performed atop a transparent, horseshoe-shaped walkway made of glass. Now, he’s checking off another box by playing at one of the seven wonders of the modern world: the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge. Kaskade went bigger than ever for this remote performance with multiple camera angles capturing the surrounding scene in immersive detail. Pe...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Justin Sullivan / Getty One of the most horrific pieces of footage from 2021 is also serving as a glimmer of hope. Humanitarians have joined together to support an unfortunate victim. On Wednesday, March 17 Xiao Zhen Xie was waiting to cross an intersection in San Francisco when a White man with blond hair ran up and punched her face. Instead of avoiding further physicality with the perpetrator she picked up a wooden plank and started striking the man’s face. Her adrenaline must have been fueling her rage as she was able to take down her opponent. Police soon arrived at the scene where she stood there sobbing and clutching her weapon. “This bum, he hit me!” she screamed. As spotted on The San Francisco Chronicle the elder has received an amazing...

US braces for continued surge in coronavirus cases, hospitalisations

As newly reported cases of the coronavirus continued to spike across much of the United States, breaking records for hospitalisations, some local leaders are moving to enact more stringent restrictions. US officials had pleaded with Americans to avoid travel and limit social gatherings as the nation entered its winter holiday season. But many appear to have disregarded those pleas over the long Thanksgiving weekend as the Transportation Security Administration screened nearly 1.2 million airline passengers on Sunday, the highest since mid-March. That number is still about 60 percent lower than the comparable day last year when 2.88 million passengers were screened, the highest ever recorded by the agency. Health officials say they are now preparing for a wave of cases over the next two or ...

US election: Republicans hold back Democrats, narrowing path to Senate control

The battle for power in the Senate tightened into Wednesday as Democrats picked up a seat in Colorado, but suffered a setback in Alabama, and Republicans held their own in high-profile races in South Carolina, Iowa, Texas and Kansas, dramatically narrowing the political map. Republicans fought to retain their Senate majority by turning back a surge of Democrats challenging allies of President Donald Trump, and the Democrats’ various paths to seizing control were growing more limited. With several contests still too early to call, and one Georgia race heading to a January runoff, the final verdict is expected to drag on. Democrats gained a seat when ex-Gov. John Hickenlooper ousted GOP Sen. Cory Gardner in Colorado, a must-win to flip the Senate, but couldn’t hold on in Alabama, where forme...

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index headed for the third straight decline. Pelosi said in a Bloomberg Television interview that while there are areas where more work is required to get a compromise, she was pleased with the Trump administration’s latest position on coronavirus testing ...

California fires force thousands to flee as governor asks for help

Some of California’s largest ever fires raged across the state Saturday, forcing tens of thousands from their homes as the governor called for international help to fight the blazes. About 12,000 lightning strikes hit across the state in 72 hours, officials said, sparking the fires that left thick smoke blanketing large areas of central and northern California. “We simply haven’t seen anything like this in many, many years,” California governor Gavin Newsom said on Friday. The two largest blazes — dubbed the SCU Lightening Complex and the LNU Lightening Complex — had burned a total of just under 600,000 acres (240,000 hectares) and nearly 500 structures. Wineries in the famed Napa and Sonoma regions, which are still reeling from blazes in recent years, are under threat by the SCU Complex —...

White House organizes harassment of Twitter employee over fact-checking of Donald Trump’s tweets

The White House has set its sights on a single Twitter employee after the company attached a fact-checking link to two of the president’s tweets containing lies and misinformation related to voter fraud. The charge was led on Fox News Wednesday morning, with Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway targeting Twitter’s head of site integrity, Yoel Roth, after digging up some tweets that were critical of Trump, Conway, and the administration. Conway called the employee “horrible” and directed listeners to go after him. “Somebody in San Francisco go wake him up and tell him he’s about to get a lot more followers,” she said on air. Immediately, the call was picked up by right-wing personalities and Trump supporters, who began sharing screenshots of the employee’s tweets. Roth is already facing a torrent...
