Evil Dead Rise Trailer Promise “Scariest” Installment Yet: Watch

The Evil Dead are coming back: New Line Cinema has today unveiled the official trailer for Evil Dead Rise, the new installment in the beloved horror franchise set to hit theaters on April 21st, 2023. Creator/original director Sam Raimi won’t be helming this movie, nor will Bruce Campbell reprise his role as Ash Williams; Irish filmmaker Lee Cronin directed and wrote Evil Dead Rise, with Raimi and Campbell instead working as executive producers. It’s unclear how the new film connects to the original trilogy, except for the presence of the fabled Necronomicon. Evil Dead Rise is centered around two estranged sisters, Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) and Beth (Lily Sullivan), “whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for sur...

Every Sam Raimi Movie Ranked From Worst to Best

Welcome to Dissected, where we disassemble a band’s catalog, a director’s filmography, or some other critical pop-culture collection in the abstract. It’s exact science by way of a few beers. The time, we enter the hyperkinetic geek-friendly mind of Sam Raimi.  For quite a few years, it seemed like audiences would never get to see another Sam Raimi film ever again. Sure, he’s produced an extensive catalog of horror movies over the past decade and has directed episodes of Ash vs. Evil Dead and the Quibi original 50 States of Fright. However, it’s been since 2013 that we’ve had a full-length feature by Raimi, whose low-budget shocker The Evil Dead is considered a hallmark of the horror genre. While he’d been in talks to helm various movies in the years since his last one, they even...

The latest preview of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness makes it clear the highly anticipated sequel is going to be one hell of a crazy, jam packed ride. You thought Spider-Man: No Way Home had a lot going on? This one’s got a minotaur (Rintrah), Scarlett Witch vs. Wanda (aka Elizabeth Olsen versus herself), as well as mysterious powered up character, a one-eyed tentacle monster (I’m still saying this is Shuma-Gorath), the reality-punching America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), and some insane special effects. And somehow that’s not all. Midway through the trailer, Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) warns Doctor Strange (Bened...
