According to reports, the anchor is suing the network and its parent company, Walt Disney Co., alleging that she was targeted and subjected to unfair treatment after she made comments during a podcast interview last September. Sage Steele Victim Blames Women For Being Sexually Harassed By Men

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Juan David Granda / Getty The dangers of being a woman and the threat of violence they endure from men and women alike have been well noted and the focus should be on the assailant’s actions instead of the victim. Sage Steele leaned into quite an antiquated assumption that women invite sexual assault and unwanted attention by the way they dress, even stating the women are doing so on purpose. Steele, an EPSN anchor, sat down on former NFL quarter Jay Cutler’s Uncut podcast and the pair bumped into a topic of being leered at by athletes in post-game coverage, even going so far as to say she “didn’t care” about the inappropriate comments, simplifying their actions and them “being stupid guys in the locker room.” “I do think that as women we have to be respo...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Juan David Granda / Getty When ESPN commentator Sage Steele isn’t joining fellow coontrarian Jason Whitlock in being the best sunken place correspondents the sports journalism world has ever seen, she’s joining the ever-growing list of anti-vaxx Black celebrities who insist that spreading loud and wrong medical misinformation during an ongoing pandemic is the best use of their platforms. (Also, see Jason Whitlock.) Steele recently sat down with ex-NFL quarterback Jay Cutler on his podcast so she could express her outrage at ESPN, which is now owned by Disney, for requiring that all its employees get vaccinated as a COVID-19 protection measure. During the episode dated for Wednesday, Steele cried butterscotch tears about how she had to get the shot to...

WELP!: Sage Steele Replaced on ESPN By Woman She Tried To Get Fired

Source: Meg Oliphant / Getty Sage Steele may have thought she had a little more pull than Elle Duncan, but it appears after ESPN’s latest announcement she found out just how sick of her personality that everyone really is. On Monday (Dec 15), the network took to Twitter to alert fans of the change, making note that Sage Steele will no longer be anchoring the daily 6 p.m. edition of SportsCenter, before noting that the coveted spot would be filled by none other than Elle Duncan. “ESPN announces SportsCenter anchor lineup for the new year,” the tweet read. “Steele will move to the noon ET edition of SportsCenter as co-anchor after the College Football Playoff and will add a new periodic ESPN+ interview program to her slate.” Duncan, who is currently on maternity leave, and will join Kevin Ne...
