One Festus Simon, who was described by the Ogun State Police Command as a suspected ritual killer, has been arrested. Police said the 20-year-old Simon had earlier been accused of killing a 12-year-old boy in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police spokesperson, told newsmen Thursday that the suspect was nabbed yesterday. Four persons on Monday died, while 12 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a lone accident involving a Mazda bus around Isara bridge on Lagos-Ibadan expressway. It was gathered that the accident, which occurred at 2:20pm on Monday, was caused by a burst tyre on the speeding vehicle. The spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday. The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps said five persons died while one was injured on Thursday in an accident after Sagamu Interchange, on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Ogun Public Relations Officer of TRACE, disclosed this in a statement made available in Ota, Ogun. Akinbiyi said the multiple accident, which happened about 9.30 a.m., was caused by reckless driving and wrongful overtaking. The Police force headquarters in Abuja has paraded a 52-year old self-acclaimed pastor, Adetokunbo Adenokpo, for abducting a dispatch rider and detaining him in an underground facility in his church in Sagamu, Lagos. A female passer-by was on Saturday night burnt to death in an accident around Lotto area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
