Rolling Loud New York is ready to bring the volume to Queens with a 2022 lineup headlined by Nicki Minaj, Future, and A$AP Rocky. The three-day festival goes September 23rd through the 25th at Citi Field in Queens. Rocky returns after headlining the 2019 edition, though both he and the festival have grown since then, with Rolling Loud becoming more established and Rocky becoming Mr. Rihanna. Meanwhile, Future is riding high on the release of his new album, I Never Liked You, while Nicki has only just returned to making music, sharing a pair of singles with Lil Baby after a period where she was more known for the state of her cousin’s friend’s testicles. Rolling Loud New York 2021 came to a close on Saturday (October 30th) after a first day dominated by hometown rappers was followed by J. Cole’s unforgettable performance in a torrential downpour. Inclimate weather was once again in the forecast, but this time around, festivalgoers came more prepared for the elements, bringing along ponchos or rain jackets. In comparison to the night before, Travis Scott dealt with lighter rain, which was probably a good thing considering how hard he and his fans raged throughout his performance. If the Day 1 theme of Rolling Loud New York 2021 was hometown rappers reigning supreme, the driving force on Friday (October 29th) was Mother Nature. Beginning as a crisp, overcast autumn day with winds strong enough to tip over garbage cans, it started drizzling around 7:30 p.m. before giving way to a full-blown rainstorm shortly after J. Cole took the main stage at 8:45. The Dreamville founder was unfazed by the weather, giving an all-time performance that those in attendance will never forget.
