The 2021 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been canceled due to a surge of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana. The popular annual event was one of many festivals expected to return this fall, but will now take place in spring 2022. The fest will now take place in 2022 over the two weekends from April 29th through May 8th. Dorothy is back with a new single, “What’s Coming to Me,” and it marks the singer’s first bit of new music since her 2018 studio album, 28 Days in the Valley. The track shows off Dorothy’s penchant for the blues, with strong, soulful vocals and a rock ‘n’ roll character. “[The song] is a story about casting out a demon and getting redeemed — a metaphor for depression or addiction,” said Dorothy in a press release. “I think it’s something we can all relate to. Everyone’s struggling with something.” Related Video The music video for “What’s Coming to Me” was directed by longtime Smashing Pumpkins collaborator and visual artist Linda Strawberry. As of now, there’s no word on a new full-length album from Dorothy. In the meantime, she has a handful of U.S. tour dates on tap for 2021. Watch...

Yves Tumor has released the new song “Jackie”, along with a mind-bending music video. It’s the Florida-born, Italy-based artist’s first solo single since last year’s Heaven to a Tortured Mind, which we named one of the best albums of 2020. Yves Tumor has also announced the rescheduled dates for their “Yves Tumor and Its Band Tour” for 2021 and 2022, which was postponed due to the pandemic. “Jackie” is a haunting ode to a former flame, featuring heavy electric guitars atop a synth-pop riff. “These days have been tragic, I ain’t sleeping,” Yves Tumor sings in the chorus. “Refuse to eat a thing, I can’t tell you what happened.” The music video was directed and produced by Los Angeles creative studio Actual Objects. It’s similarly eerie, using AI to depict Yves Tumor as a devilish creature in ...

That’s a whopping 62 albums, including 36 that have never before been available on DSPs, plus fan-favorite Cryptomnesia, a collaboration with John Frusciante, and oh so much more. This comes as part of his expansive deal with Clouds Hill Music, which in March acquired the full catalogues of Rodríguez-López Productions and The Mars Volta. It’s been a productive two months. So far, Clouds Hill has treated fans to a budget-busting 18-LP box set from The Mars Volta, the...
<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-19T18:37:40+00:00“>May 19, 2021 | 2:37pm ET Garbage are back with another single from their upcoming album No Gods No Masters. The new song is called “Wolves” and it’s available to stream below. Like the album’s title track, “Wolves” is a bold, guitar-driven number with new wave synth that sees Garbage returning to form. Shirley Manson sings about a desperate love affair gone wrong with a twisted delivery. In the chorus, her vocals are especially breathy and eerie, transforming the narrator into an almost possessed-like figure. “This song reminds me of my younger self, when there were two sides to my personality,” Manson explained in a press release. “I hurt so many people in my ...

It’s too risky to celebrate Doomin’ Sun’s release by playing a concert for fans right now during the pandemic, so the duo have organized the next best thing: a star-studded livestream music festival. Say hello to Doomin’ Sun Fest, a free event on June 10th featuring Tegan and Sara, Courtney Barnett, Ben Gibbard, and dozens of other artists. Doomin’ Sun Fest is billed as both a massive livestream festival and a telethon to benefit Seeding Sovereignty, an Indigenous-led collective that disrupts colonized spaces thr...

During the virtual acceptance ceremony on Thursday night, the Boss not only played a four-song acoustic set honoring Guthrie, he teased a new album “coming out soon.” The casual mention came during a Q&A with Guthrie’s daughter, Nora, and Grammy Museum Executive Director Robert Santelli. “California was an enormous influence on some of my most topical writing through my ‘90s, 2000s and even now,” Springsteen said. “We have a record coming out soon that’s set largely in the W...

Well, fret no more, because Dead & Company, the legacy act that performs with John Mayer, has just unveiled 31 new tour dates that take place this summer and fall. Dead & Company are comprised of original Dead Heads Bob Weir (guitar), Mickey Hart (drums), and Bill Kreutzmann (drums), alongside relative newcomers John Mayer (guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass), and Jeff Chimenti (keyboard). The group performed its first concert in 2015, and over ...
<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-11T21:00:01+00:00“>May 11, 2021 | 5:00pm ET Former Styx singer Dennis DeYoung has joined forces with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello for a new song called “The Last Guitar Hero”. The track will appear on DeYoung’s final studio album, 26 East, Vol. 2, which arrives June 11th. While Styx certainly made their mark as a hard-rocking band, DeYoung is also known for his ballads like “Babe” and “Lady”, making his collaboration with Morello a bit of an unlikely partnership. “The Last Guitar Hero” has a throwback Styx sound with a blistering solo from Morello at the 2:30 mark. The song is the second single from DeYoung’s forthcoming album, following last month’s release of ...
