The Black Keys Bring the Mississippi Blues to Late Show with Stephen Colbert: Watch

Filmed to tape at the legendary Blue Front Café, Dan Auerbach, Patrick Carney, and their backing band delivered slick covers of Junior Kimbrough’s version of the John Lee Hooker classic “Crawling Kingsnake” and R.L. On Wednesday, he was arraigned at Limestone County Courthouse in Athens, Alabama, during which he was granted bond by Judge Gray West, according to Alabama ABC affiliate WAAY. Johnson was arrested on March 24th in Limestone County, Alabama, after being indicted on charges of “willful torture, willful abuse, and cruelly beating or otherwise willfully maltreating a child under the age of 18.” Prior to the arraignment hearing, Johnson was not granted bond due to an arrest warrant for violating a protective order. After spending 15 days behind bar...

The White Stripes’ White Blood Cells Receives 20th Anniversary Companion Release

Jack White’s Third Man Records will commemorate the 20th anniversary of The White Stripes’ White Blood Cells by releasing a companion album of unreleased material from the era. The latest release from Third Man’s Vault subscription service, White Blood Cells XX collects 30 previously unreleased songs and live recordings, as well as an hour-long DVD offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of White Blood Cells. Pressed on red vinyl are 13 previously unreleased tracks, including demos of “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” and “Offend In Every Way”. Dave Grohl to Publish First Book

Unable to tour due to the pandemic, Dave Grohl kept busy during the early months of quarantine by publishing short stories from his life to an Instagram page dubbed “Dave’s True Stories”. His tales recounted a 4th of July fireworks display gone horribly wrong; a wild story involving Pantera and a strip club; and the time he got to jam with Prince. Now, Grohl intends to compile these stories and more in his first published book. Entitled Dave Grohl: The Storyteller and set for release on October 5th, the 304-page book is described by Grohl as “a collection of memories of a life lived loud. Alabama Shakes Drummer Steve Johnson Arrested for Child Abuse

Alabama Shakes drummer Steve Johnson is in custody after being charged with child abuse. According to the Associated Press, Johnson was arrested on Wednesday (March 24th) in Limestone County, Alabama, after being indicted on charges of “willful torture, willful abuse, and cruelly beating or otherwise willfully maltreating a child under the age of 18.” An arraignment is set for April 7th. Johnson previously pleaded guilty in March 2020 to violating a domestic violence protection order.  He received a suspended sentence of a year in jail, with 24 months on probation. Alabama Shakes has been on hiatus since 2018 as singer Brittany Howard focuses on her solo career. Neither Howard nor the band has yet to publicly address Johnson’s arrest. Alice Cooper has commented on the recent abuse allegations levied against Marilyn Manson by several women. The O.G. shock rocker is not ready to throw the book at Manson just yet, saying, “I never noticed that streak in him.” While promoting his just-released new album, Detroit Stories, Cooper was asked about his thoughts on the recent Manson developments in a video interview with NME. “It’s funny about Marilyn in that I know Marilyn — when we toured together, we got along very well,” replied Cooper. “I never noticed that streak in him, if it’s there. The Offspring Announce New Album Let the Bad Times Roll, Share Title Track: Stream

The Offspring will return on April 16th with their tenth studio album. Entitled Let the Bad Times Roll, it serves as the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By. As was the case for Days Go By, The Offspring recruited Bob Rock to produced Let the Bad Times Roll. The new album spans 12 tracks in total. The title track serves as the lead single and is streaming below. “Coming For You”, a song originally released way back in 2015, also appears on the tracklist, as does a newly recorded version of the band’s 1997 classic “Gone Away”. Crowded House Announce New Album Dreamers Are Waiting, Share “To The Island”: Stream

Crowded House have returned with news of their first album in over a decade, Dreamers Are Waiting. The record is due out later this year, but the Australian rockers are giving fans a taste with a new song called “To The Island”. The track is actually the second single from the 12-song effort, which marks their first new full-length since 2010’s Intriguer.
