Life of Agony to Release Feature-Length Documentary The Sound of Scars
Life of Agony have announced the screening of their new feature-length documentary, The Sound of Scars, starting April 16th. The two-week virtual screening of the documentary will include a Q&A discussion with the band and the director, moderated by SiriusXM’s Shawn the Butcher. Tickets are available for pre-order at this location with a portion of proceeds going to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and All Out. Directed by Leigh Brooks, the 90-minute film compiles personal archive footage, rare photographs, and lost interviews, along with new, never-before-seen conversations with the band and their family members. A new movie titled Sound of Metal is set to hit select theaters and Amazon Prime Video in the coming months. The fictional film stars Riz Ahmed as a punk-metal drummer who fears the end of his career. Ahmed, the Emmy-winning star of the acclaimed HBO series The Night Of, plays drummer Ruben, a recovering heroin addict who is losing his hearing. His girlfriend Lou (played by Olivia Cooke), who is also his bandmate, checks him into a sober living house for the deaf. From there, the drummer has to decide whether to adapt to his new situation or pursue his beloved music career. The movie, titled The Night of the Beast, is currently in post-production. According to Variety, the narrative film centers on Bogotá teenagers Vargas and Chuki, who head out to see an Iron Maiden show in Colombia. While the movie itself is fictional, it is based on true events of 2008, when metalheads journeyed to see the iconic metal band play its first concert in the Latin American country.
