Summer Camp Music Festival has announced its lineup of artists for its 20th anniversary celebration. After postponing the festival from its annual Memorial Day Weekend due to the impact of COVID-19, almost all of the headliners have been confirmed for the festival’s new dates of August 20th to 22nd. The fest, an Illinois staple, features an expansive lineup of major electronic music artists, jam bands, hip-hop groups, and more. After the event’s initial postponement to May 2021, GRiZ had been excluded from the lineup. With the festival now slated for its new August dates, however, electro-funk producer was able to be included in the 20th anniversary celebration. He joins REZZ, STS9, Tipper, Emancipator, CloZee, LSDream, Shpongle, The Floozies, Manic Focu...
Fans of REZZ may hear a brand new album from Space Mom sooner rather than later. As the excitement around her hotly anticipated third album continues to build, REZZ took to Twitter yesterday, March 12th, to update fans that the record is finally complete. She also hyped up the stage production for a yet-to-be-announced tour, which fans will be glad to hear she called “sorcery.” “I have so much new music that it’s actually overwhelming building a future tour set… Btw this new tour production will be actual SORCERY,” she tweeted. “And my album is done.” It’s fair to wonder if REZZ’s unreleased song with deadmau5 will be included on the album, which doesn’t have a title at the time of this article’s publicat...
It looks like REZZ and deadmau5 are on the verge of releasing one of 2021’s biggest electronic songs. Just two days after announcing that she and deadmau5 were collaborating on a brand new demo, Space Mom took to Twitter to share a preview of the joint effort. Her fans will be delighted to hear that the track is right in her wheelhouse, a hypnotic yet menacing midtempo tune with all the grit and wobbly bass of a signature REZZ release. The clips REZZ shared today offer a glimpse into the song’s melody, build, and drop, all of which rumble with tinctures of deadmau5’s haunting sound design. At the time of this article’s publication, neither deadmau5 nor REZZ have divulged any further details about the collaboration, including an official title or release da...
Fans of REZZ and deadmau5 can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After years of speculation, it seems the two mau5trap linchpins are finally completing a collaboration. It’s been a longtime coming. Word of a collaboration between the two first spread back in 2018, when REZZ shared a clip containing a preview of audio she dubbed “Rezzmau5.” Since then, it’s been nothing but hearsay—until now. While the audio above most likely won’t be the one to ultimately see an official release, REZZ took to Twitter on March 7th to update fans on her collaborative efforts with deadmau5, a longtime friend and mentor of sorts. Less than 24 hours after tweeting that she was going to create a new demo for the legendary producer, she went on to follow up with another claiming that ...
To coincide with International Women’s Day, Underplayed, a documentary exploring gender inequity in EDM, has officially hit streaming platforms. Starting today, March 8th, you can watch Underplayed on Amazon Prime, YouTube, Apple TV, and Google Play, among other major streaming services. The film provides timely commentary on the blatant gender gap present in electronic music via interviews with many of the scene’s most prevalent artists, such as TOKiMONSTA and REZZ. “I feel like I’ve really had to prove myself more so than men, and I think a lot of women will tell you the same thing,” famed DJ and music producer Alison Wonderland told EDM.com in an October 2020 interview. “I had to work really hard for credibility as an artist.” The 20...
REZZ and PVRIS sent fans into a tizzy when word broke that they were releasing a collaboration together. The production of a space mom track combined with the vocals of Lynn Gunn is sure to be out of this world. “SACRIFICIAL” is set to be released this Friday, February 5th. A short teaser has been shared leaving much to the imagination, but luckily for us, we only have a few more days until we can get the full picture. Last week, when she first shared new music was on the way, we predicted that this could be one of the first singles from her new album, but this cannot be confirmed at this time. “SACRIFICIAL” will follow the beloved producer’s remix of “Violence” by Grimes and i_o. Prior to that, she dropped a slew of hit singles like&nbs...
Over the weekend, Rezz treated fans to a massive collaboration featuring the rock band, PVRIS. Now, fans who can’t get enough of her music are already gearing up for another big bass crossover. Recently revealed on Twitter, the storied bass producer, PEEKABOO, is currently working on a new song with Space Mom. Seeing as this track is very much in progress, there is no preview available at this time. While much is unknown, it’s a promsing sign that the new song has left both artists “SCREAMING.” At the time of writing, a title or release date for PEEKABOO and Rezz’s work-in-progress collaboration is not yet known. Considering the fact that it was just started a few days ago, fans will have to practice patience as its official release may be far out. ...
Whenever our beloved space mom drops a single, we know it will be big. REZZ teased fans that new music was on the way just last week, but didn’t make us wait long to hear the final result. Her first original of the year, “Sacrificial,” has arrived and features a stunning performance from PVRIS. This is their first collaboration together but we hope it won’t be their last. “‘Sacrificial’ is about risking it all for love… even if the world around you is telling you it’s not right,” PVRIS explained in a press release. This message is conveyed beautifully through Lynn Gunn‘s emotive vocal performance. Rezz balances the track out with her signature midtempo stylings, adding dimension around every corner. It’s both ...
It’s been an empty first month of the year without the bone-rattling synths of Space Mom guiding the way. Luckily, dance music fans won’t have to wait much longer after REZZ announced that she will be dropping a new track next week. While the track’s title and specific release date have yet to be announced, it’s safe to assume it’s a must-listen if REZZ is behind the production. In August of last year, it was revealed that she was working on a new album, which means her first single of 2021 could theoretically be from the upcoming project. Check out her announcement below. Last year, REZZ added some major hits to her already impressive discography. She dropped two powerhouse collaborations, “Into The Abyss” with Zeds Dead and the jaw-drop...
With the original album out for nearly a year, electronic music producers have reimagined Grimes‘ Miss Anthropocene from a rave perspective. The synthpop songstress brought together numerous high-profile electronic artists, including Richie Hawtin, Tale of Us, and REZZ to make her remix album Miss Anthropocene (Rave Edition) a reality. The record is vastly a sonic exploration of the darker, trunk-thumping flavors of techno made possible by a tone-setting opening remix from ANNA and a distortion-heavy take on “My Name Is Dark” by Julien Bracht. Those tracks contrast with the melancholic pop contributions of BloodPop® and Channel Tres, who brilliantly outfit “Delete Forever” with chunky funk bass and disco textures. REZZ’s sp...
Grimes has announced that a remixed rave edition of her album Miss Anthropocene is set to arrive on New Years Day. The collection will include nearly a dozen remixes with producers such as techno heavyweights Richie Hawtin and Tale of Us, singer-songwriter and producer Channel Tres, and superstar pop producer BloodPop® all joining the effort. The album additionally includes a remix of Grimes & i_o‘s 2019 collaboration “Violence,” courtesy of REZZ, who shared a preview yesterday. The pop songstress has already teased some of the forthcoming tracks in her DJ mix for the blockbuster video game Cyberpunk 2077 in which she plays a character named Lizzy Wizzy. The release of Miss Anthropocene: Rave Edition wi...
Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to include the release date of REZZ’s remix of “Violence.” REZZ has found the perfect way to pay tribute to i_o. Space Mom recently took to Twitter to announce that she has remixed the late techno music producer’s single “Violence.” Released back in September 2019 alongside renowned artpop artist Grimes, the track was a breakthrough for i_o, who tragically passed away just over a year later. Check out REZZ’s announcement and teaser below. Following the news of i_o’s sudden and shocking death, Grimes shared a devastating reaction on Twitter and paid homage to the blossoming producer, who she called “Lord of Techno.” “It was SUCH an honor to know you. I feel crazy uncontr...
