Obudu contract debt: Appeal court reserves judgment against Cross River

The Abuja division of the Court of Appeal has reserved judgment in the appeal filed by a private firm, Zedici Capital Ltd, against the Cross River State Government over a N3.8 billion contract debt. The appellant, Zedici Capital Ltd, is the firm that remodelled the Obudu Mountain Resort in Cross River State, now a subject of litigation. The three-member panel of the Court of Appeal, headed by Justice Peter Ige, reserved the date after counsel to the parties had adopted their legal submissions for and against the appeal, that is challenging the judgment of a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which had in 2019, refused to affirm the arbitral award to Zedici Ltd over its investment of N3.8 billion in the resort. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday denied a newspaper report that he had said he would rather bodies piled “high in their thousands” than order a third COVID-19 lockdown. Residents of Aguobia-Nomeh, a community in Enugu state have expressed concern over the dilapidated conditions of the Community Secondary School. The school in Aguobia is a public junior and senior secondary located in Aguobia-Nomeh in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State. Residents have on several occasion lamented the chronic state of the Community Secondary School calling for urgent repairs of the school class rooms but all efforts yielded no result. Nigerian government given N81 million bill to cut Abuja stadium grass – minister

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has said the Federal Government was given a bill of N81 million to cut the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. He said this in a series of tweets on Sunday. According to Dare, the sports ministry rejected the bill. The minister explained that fund was not available, adding that there would be an outcry if Nigerians were told that N81 million was used to cut grass. He tweeted, “The ministry was given a bill.
