Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will pen the script for the Hitchcock remake. Paramount Eyes Vertigo Remake Starring Robert Downey Jr. Carys Anderson
A new theatrical remake of The Lost Boys is in the works at Warner Bros. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) and Jaeden Martell (It) have been cast in the lead roles. Jonathan Entwistle, who directed several episodes of The End of the F***ing World and is attached to the upcoming Power Rangers film, is on board to helm The Lost Boys, working off a script penned by Randy McKinnon. The original Lost Boys, released in 1987, was directed by the late Joel Schumacher and starred Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Alex Winter, Corey Feldman, and Corey Haim. The horror comedy told the story of two brothers who, after moving to a California beach town with their divorced mother, discover that it is being terrorized by a vampire biker gang. The upcoming adaptatio...
Despite being a ’90s teen rom-com favorite, She’s All That barely held up at the time of its release in 1999. The whole “transform an outsider into a popular kid so that everyone can learn lessons about themselves” thing reinforced the grossness of high school hierarchy as much as anything. Now that social media has made teenagers that much more judgmental, it’s apparently time to reiterate those lessons with a remake. Netflix is releasing the gender-swapped He’s All That on August 27th, and the streamer has today delivered the first trailer. From the looks of it, She’s All That screenwriter R. Lee Fleming and Mean Girls director Mark Walters decided to take all the worst parts of the original and make it 2021. TikTok star (aka content thief, aka not an actress) Addison Rae plays Padg...

That’s right, Henry Cavill is reportedly in talks to star in the Chad Stahelski-helmed film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The remake of the 1986 cult classic has been in development since 2016, when Stahelski (best known for helming the first three John Wick titles) originally signed on to direct the film for Lionsgate. At the time, he told THR he’d “been a huge fan of the original property since I saw it in high school.” “Such great themes of immortality, love, and identity are all wrapped up in such colorful mythology,” the filmmaker explained...
It’s barely been a year since Jordan Peele’s last movie, Us, hit theaters and shattered box office expectations. Now, he’s landed on his next project: a remake of Wes Craven’s horror satire The People Under the Stairs. According to Collider, Peele has signed on to produce a new version of the 1991 movie for Universal. Win Rosenfield will join him in the production department via their Monkeypaw Productions house. There’s no word yet if Peele will take the reins as the director for the remake or help write the script, but fingers crossed. The original version of The People Under the Stairs followed a young boy and two adult thieves as they break into a house to steal a rare coin collection, but wind up getting trapped inside. That’s when they have to face the Robesons, the bizarre coup...

Who had Frosty the Snowman played by Jason Momoa on their 2020 bingo card? The Game of Thrones and Aquaman hunk has boarded Warner Bros.’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the children’s holiday classic, according to Deadline. Elf scribe David Berenbaum is writing the film’s script, reuniting with producer Jon Berg. “From his role as a fearsome count in a land of ice and fire to the oceanic success we all had with Aquaman, it felt only right to realize Jason this time out of snow,” Berg commented in a statement. Added co-producer Greg Silverman, “We know Jason’s as a true human being filled with love, compassion and a deep connection to ohana — all of which is the living spirit of Xmas and Frosty.” Editors’ Picks Momoa may be best known for playing Khal Drago, the ferocio...
Source: Gregg DeGuire / Getty It seems one of the greatest cinematic efforts in history is about to get a modern update. The legend of Tony Montana will live on once again. As spotted on Variety Universal Pictures is moving forward with a reboot of the classic film Scarface. According to the article Luca Guadagnino, of Call Me by Your Name fame, has been tapped to direct the project. Reports state that Joel Coen and Ethan Coen have put the final touches to the script that was originally curated by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, Jonathan Herman and Paul Attanasio. This is not the first time this gangster tale has been revisited for a modern remix resulting in several botched attempts. In 2011 producer Martin Bregman had plugged in David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) for the...
Luca Guadagnino will soon prove the world is his. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Call Me By Your Name filmmaker has signed on to direct Universal’s long-gestating remake of Scarface. It gets better: Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the latest draft of the screenplay, topping a laundry list of contributors that includes Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Balla), Jonathan Herman (Straight Outta Compton), and Paul Attanasio (Quiz Show), among others. The story will reportedly be set in Los Angeles. Guadagnino is no stranger to the remake game, having helmed the rather superb reimagining of Dario Argento’s Suspiria back in 2018. Editors’ Picks This marks the third take on Scarface, following Howard Hawks’ Chicago-set original in 1932 and Brian De Palma’s Miami-set remake in 1983 starring Al ...
