CAC withdraws registration of ‘Enough is Enough’
The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Tuesday cancelled the registration of the Business name ‘Enough is Enough’ with immediate effect. The commission disclosed this on its Twitter handle, @cacnigeria1. “Based on the provisions of Section 579 (2) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, (CAMA), the Corporate Affairs Commission has cancelled the registration of the Business name “Enough is Enough BN 2210728” with immediate effect. “The Business Name “Enough is Enough” which was registered in 2012 to engage in General Contracts, Sales of Sport Equipment/Promotion deviated from its main objectives over the cause of time. “Consequently, the Commission has removed it from its database and advised the proprietors to surrender the certificate earlier issued to them.” Get more stories like this o...
INEC admits challenges in deployment of technology in 2019 elections
File Photo The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confessed that the deployment of technology in the electoral process especially during the 2019 general elections came with challenges. The Commission made the disclosure in the review of the 2019 general elections, a report of the Commission’s retreats and stakeholder engagement, presented during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday. INEC also claimed in the review that the delay in investigation and transmission of case files to the Commission for further action by the police has hindered the successful prosecution of electoral offenders. Lagos seeks monthly payment of house rent for residents
The Lagos State Government has called on stakeholders in real estate sector to work out modalities for residents to pay house rents on monthly basis instead of yearly. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made the call on Thursday in Lekki, during the Policy Roundtable Dialogue with key stakeholders in the Real Estate Sector. The roundtable, with the theme ”International Best Practices On Real Estate Regulations”, was organised by the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA). Survival Fund: Nigerian government releases registration schedule as portal opens Monday
As the portal for the registration of prospective beneficiaries for the Survival Fund opens on Monday, the Federal Government has released the timetable for categories of businesses to register. AIB begins investigation as two aircraft collide at Lagos airport
Akintunde Akinleye/Reuters The Accident Investigation Bureau says it will investigate a collision involving Middle East Airline and a Turkish plane at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the Airbus A330-243 operated by the Middle East Airline ran into the Turkish cargo aircraft with registration marks TC-LJC parked at the airport. The AIB in a statement on Thursday by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Tunji Oketumbi, described the incident as “serious”, while noting that a formal report would be released upon completion of the investigation. Nigerian government deregisters Ohanaeze, Arewa CF, others over security clearance
The Federal Government has deregistered frontline socio-cultural groups in Nigeria as the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has withdrawn the registration certificate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), among others. Disclosing this in Abuja, the Registrar General of CAC, Garba Abubakar, said the measure was part of the reforms the Commission was putting in place to subject such applications to thorough scrutiny following security threats that may arise from such registrations.
