The organizers of Croatia’s Circus Maximus music festival are not only bringing a massive lineup to the table for its 2021 edition, but also hoping to change the way festivals are organized and ticketed. Utilizing a financial concept called DAO (or Distributed Autonomous Organization), Circus Maximus will put the power in the hands of the its attendees. According to a press release, DAOs run through rules encoded in smart contracts, and can be organized around common goals or interests. The Department of State Services, DSS, has warned those it described as misguided elements threatening Nigeria’s unity and peaceful co-existence to desist from doing so. Academic Staff from public institutions across the country have so far accessed over N120 billion for training, within and outside Nigeria, from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) since its inception in 2008. The Chairman, Board of Trustees of TETFund, Alhaji Kashim Imam, disclosed this on Wednesday when he led a delegation of the fund to the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) on an assessment visit. Imam said for 2021 alone, the fund was investing N25 billion on academic staff training and development.
