If music were water, Colorado would never run dry. It’s no secret that Colorado is a hub for electronic music. And its most iconic venue, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, is its biggest purveyor. Celebrated for its natural acoustics, which are made possible by two giant monoliths flanking the amphitheater, the open air venue is one of those ineffable places that consistently manufactures “you had to be there” moments. Ergo, only those who have attended an electronic dance music show at Red Rocks can attest how special it is. Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. The iconic open air venue is celebrated for its natural acoustics, which are made possible by two giant monoliths flanking its seating area and stage. Interestingly enough, Robinson, who first performed at Red Rocks 2015, will be opening and closing the show. Hold out your glass because Boogie T is serving up some funk on the rocks this spring. In April, the Louisiana-bred producer will be taking over one of America’s most iconic concert venues, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, for a Friday night showcase. Joining the bearded bass bender will be SoDown, Minnesota, KHIVA, Bawldy, and his BOOGIE T.RIO live band for a special sunset set. Like Boogie T himself, the lineup is a nice blend of live electronic and wonky bass music. The announcement video also shows a very sacred process that’s not often caught on camera. Believe it or not, artists are not booked at Red Rocks via email chains with their managers. As it turns out, bottles with invites have been scattered around the world and those who find them get to take the...
Legend has it, the spirits unleashed by SVDDEN DEATH and his alter-ego VOYD have still not settled after his Red Rocks show back in October. One of the most exciting standalone bass music shows took place back in the fall, when—making his debut at Red Rocks—the dubstep superstar wreaked havoc on the masses just days before Halloween. With help from Space Laces, Oolacile, Aweminus, Phiso, Neonix, and Syzy, the show, dubbed “The Valley of Darkness,” exceeded fans’ expectations and then some. The show came just days after his massive single “Transmutation Sequence” hit the airwaves. Putting the evil in medieval, the official release of the highly anticipated track was yet another peak performance from one of bass music’s most excit...

Move over, Dua Lipa. There’s a new levitation queen in town. Alison Wonderland put the entire Red Rocks faithful under her spell this week, briefly appearing to float above the stage at her pair of “Temple of Wonderland” shows at the iconic venue. Kiss goodbye to the old Louis The Child. Long known for their bubbly dance-pop anthems, like the Taylor Swift-approved “It’s Strange,” the duo have now mutated into a full-blown rave act. It’s like when the cuddly Minions transformed into the evil, fang-dripping purple monstrosities in Despicable Me. But unlike the family-friendly comedy, there’s nothing childish about Louis The Child’s new direction. Louis The Child perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday, August 27th, 2021. The road to RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s third album has been one of tantalizing ambivalence, obscured by cryptic teases and mysterious antics. And after their latest interview, we’re sadly no closer. But at least we get to watch them perform. Making their debut on The Late Late Show, the trio chatted with host James Corden following a massive show at Colorado’s fabled Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Before the program aired RÜFÜS DU SOL’s performance of “Alive,” band member Tyrone Lindqvist provided an update on the album. “Well we need to finish it first,” Lindqvist said with a laugh, adding, “We’re really excited about the songs that we’ve made and the album that’s coming out.” Check out the clip below. With a huge performance comes huge surprises. During his momentous Red Rocks show earlier this week, melodic bass superstar Seven Lions showcased a massive, brand new collaboration with Lights. Thankfully, a fan was able to capture the surreal moment in a clip later shared by a fan account dedicated to the producer’s Ophelia Records imprint. The majority of the recording comprises Lights’ scintillating vocals, but viewers are also able to hear a section of a soaring melodic dubstep drop towards the end. Following widespread speculation about who the vocalist was, Lights eventually chimed in with a smoking gun of a tweet containing a series of “eyes” emojis. At the time of this article’s publication, the track has no known name or release date. We’ll keep...

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado has hosted thousands of iconic bands and musicians for more than 80 years. It’s no secret that the venue remains one of the most beloved in the world, but after its proprietors introduced new headphone technology—which allows attendees to live music delivered directly from the soundboard—Red Rocks received an overwhelming amount of backlash. Fans were not happy with the prospect of potentially needing headphones to hear the music when attending a concert in some of the amphitheatre’s upper rows. This led many to believe that the sound ordinances for the venue had changed, due to complaints from nearby residents. Following the launch of a fan-led petition to eradicate sound limitations, the City of Denver has ...
