Victor Ikpeba: Alex Iwobi no longer in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans

Everton coach, Carlo Ancelotti, according to Victor Ikpeba, may no longer have Alex Iwobi in his plans after the gaffer completely left the Super Eagles star out of Everton’s squad in their opening game of the new season against Tottenham. Iwobi was not listed in the Everton team that beat host Tottenham 1-0 at the weekend prompting former Nigeria international, Ikpeba to suggest that the Toffees’ boss no longer fancy the former Arsenal forward in his team. Ikpeba while speaking on Monday Night Football monitored on Super Sports, says Ancelotti’s arrival at the Goodison Park could see Iwobi struggle for game time at Everton with the Italian gaffer having signed new players. Iwobi who joined Everton last season in a €30million move from Arsenal score one goal in 25 Premier League appearance...

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly sacrifice midfielder to sign ‘special talent’

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are open to including Dele Alli in a deal to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. It has been reported that Bale is open to returning to the Premier League this summer. Manchester United are interested in signing the Wales international winger, and so are Premier League rivals Tottenham, according to the report. It has been further claimed that Spurs are open to including 24-year-old England international midfielder Alli in a potential swap deal with Madrid and bring Bale – described as “a special talent” by former Tottenham midfielder Micky Hazard in The Daily Star last month – back to the North London club. Does swapping Gareth Bale for Dele Alli make sense? Alli is a very talented midfielder, but the England ...

Roberts has just reacted to rumour that Gareth Bale could make Tottenham Hotspur return

Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The former Tottenham defender believes that Bale would be a brilliant signing for the North London club. According to Sky Sports, Spurs are interested in bringing the Wales international winger back to the club from Spanish and European giants Madrid this summer. It has been reported that Bale’s advisers are talking to Spurs over a potential loan move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer. ESPN has claimed that Tottenham and Manchester United want the 31-year-old winger, with Madrid willing to sell the Wales international winger for £18 million or send him out on loan and subsidise his £600,000-a-week salary....

‘It just depends on him’: Luka Modric has his say on £22m Tottenham target’s future

Luka Modric has shed light on Gareth Bale’s situation, saying it is up to him to decide about his future. The Croatian was the team-mate of Bale at Tottenham Hotspur for four years and the pair have been together in Spain since the Welsh winger joined Madrid in 2013. Bale doesn’t feature in Zinedine Zidane’s first-team plans and Madrid will reportedly let him leave this summer. Modric has said that it is a difficult situation for Bale and the club. He feels that Bale needs to decide for himself what he wants to do next. He feels that Bale has a lot of football left in him and that he can still be a very important player for any club in the world. “For almost 12 years we are playing together and it’s a difficult situation for him and for the club,” Modric said to The Times. “Gareth needs to...

Gareth Bale: Real Madrid blocked my return to Premier League

Gareth Bale has accused Real Madrid of making it “very difficult” to leave the Spanish club as the Wales forward looks to end his Bernabeu exile. Bale is out of favour with Real manager Zinedine Zidane and played just 48 minutes of Madrid’s 12 games when the Spanish season resumed after the coronavirus lockdown. Zidane, who has feuded with Bale throughout his two spells in charge, said the winger did not want to play in last season’s Champions League last-16 second-leg tie at Manchester City. Bale has two years left on his Real contract, but there appears little chance he will force his way into the manager’s plans. The 31-year-old almost joined Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning in 2019 before Real pulled the plug on the deal, a decision that still irks Bale. “I think the club needs...

Villarreal boss applauds Samuel Chukwueze’s performance vs Real Sociedad

Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze was impressive again as Villarreal recorded a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad in a pre-season game on Tuesday. Chukwueze who scored in Villarreal’s pre season game against Valencia continued from where he stopped as he ran the show against the Basque based team. Chukwueze set up Francis Coquelin for the opening goal in the 8th minute, making him the player with the most assist in pre-season games for Villarreal. Emery was impressed with his performance and he rose to his feet to applaud the 20-year-old when he went past three players in a flash. Despite the arrival of Real Madrid youngster Take Kubo, Chukwueze has continued to get enough game time under his belt and he will be hoping to start in opening their La Liga campaign against newly-promoted Huesca....

Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos hopes Leo Messi stays at Barcelona

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos insists he wants Lionel Messi to stay at Barcelona, for the good of LaLiga. Messi’s father Jorge flew into Barcelona on Wednesday for crunch talks with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, with the player’s camp reportedly hoping to engineer a move to Manchester City. But when asked about the situation at Spain’s pre-Germany press conference, Los Blancos skipper Ramos gave a surprising answer. “This doesn’t concern us,” Ramos told reporters. “He’s earned the right to decide his future, I don’t know if he’s doing it in the best possible way, but Spanish football, Barcelona and Real Madrid players – because we want to face the best – want him to stay. “He makes LaLiga better, his team is better with him and El Clásico is more beautiful with him. “I have nothi...

Sevilla sign Oscar Rodriguez from Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Oscar Rodriguez has joined Sevilla on a five-year contract, the clubs announced on Sunday. Oscar came through Madrid’s youth system but never made an appearance for the first team and has spent the past two years at Leganes, scoring 13 goals and making six assists. The Spaniard was one of Leganes’ key players last term, even as the club were relegated from the top flight. He has earned a particularly strong reputation as a free-kick taker, after scoring four goals last season from 16 attempts. Sevilla have paid Madrid around 15 million euros ($17.9 million) to sign Oscar, according to reports in the Spanish press. “The 22-year-old signs with the club for the next five seasons,” read a statement from Sevilla, who added he has a “powerful shot and an excellent set-piec...

‘Fact’: Journalist claims 76-cap int’l ‘would soon be traveling’ to join Everton

Everton are close to securing a deal for James Rodriguez this summer. Carlo Ancelotti is looking to bolster his attacking department and has earmarked the Real Madrid attacking-midfielder as a potential option. The 29-year-old, who joined Madrid in 2014, has made 125 appearances for the club in all competitions. However, he is not in Zinedine Zidane’s first-team plans, and Los Blancos are looking to offload him. Everton are in talks to sign the 29-year-old who has just 12 months left on his Madrid contract. According to Winsports Tv journalist, Carlos Aleman, Rodriguez is close to joining the Toffees, and only fringes of the deal needed to be finalized. He has claimed that the 76-times capped Colombian international will shortly be traveling to Liverpool to complete his move to Goodison Pa...

Mikel Arteta: Dani Ceballos wants Arsenal transfer but decision rests with Real Madrid

Dani Ceballos wants to join Arsenal on a permanent basis, claims Mikel Arteta, but any decision on the midfielder’s future now rests in the hands of Real Madrid. The 24-year-old playmaker spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Emirates Stadium. Life in England did not always run smooth for the Spain international, with a bright start under Unai Emery making way for a mid-season dip. Ceballos was, however, to play his way back into favour under Arteta and finished with two goals, two assists and an FA Cup winners’ medal to his name. Arsenal believe there is more to come from a man who has struggled to nail down a regular role in Madrid. They continue to explore the option of putting another agreement in place, but are waiting on Real to make decisions regarding the futures of those on the fr...

James Rodriguez set to join Everton

James Rodriguez is very close to completing a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton. The Italian coach has been key in convincing the Real Madrid midfielder and, while negotiations are not yet closed, they are on the right track. An agreement could be closed between Everton and Real Madrid for a fee between 25 and 30 million euros. Ancelotti got the best out of James in a Real Madrid shirt during the 2014/15 season, while the 61-year-old also brought the playmaker to Bayern Munich on a loan deal in 2017. The relationship between Ancelotti and James is strong, which is why the 29-year-old has given the green light to move to Everton ahead of other options he had on the table. James stated in an interview with a Mexican media outlet last week that his priority is to leave Real Madrid for a club ...

Luis Figo on whether Messi would ever join Real Madrid

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is reportedly unhappy at the Camp Nou and he is thought to be seriously considering an exit from the club where he has spent the entirety of his career. Messi’s contract with the Spanish club comes to an end next summer. Even as Barcelona have quickly brought in Ronald Koeman as the new manager after a poor season, Messi is increasingly disillusioned with Barcelona’s top management over the last couple of years. Luis Figo himself says that it is unlikely that Messi would consider going down the route that he took. According to Marca, Figo said: “This year, it’s impossible for a club to meet Messi’s release clause. “I think it’s almost impossible that he’ll do something similar to what happened with me 20 years ago.” There is an increasing likelihood of Messi lea...
