Lunch is on Marcus: Rashford’s campaign to help school children Footballers have a unique position of influence, especially the younger ones in today’s era, with their millions of followers on Twitter and Instagram. While almost all players take part in some form of community service or philanthropic endeavours, Marcus Rashford decided to use his social media as a platform to appeal to UK lawmakers who were about to end a program that allows free lunches to millions of schoolchildren. Eventually, the lawmakers decided to cave into his request and made sure the program stays running. This not only bought to light the potential influence a young footballer can ...

Cristiano Ronaldo wants Real Madrid star to join Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo wants Juventus to go for one of the most experienced players from the Real Madrid roster during the upcoming months. Real Madrid took a slight backseat as Cristiano Ronaldo made a blockbuster move to Juventus during the summer of 2018. The Portugal international was not well replaced in the transfer window of his exit, which saw Los Blancos pay the ultimate price of enduring a trophyless season. However, they did pull up their socks in 2019. Florentino Perez spent an incremental amount and brought in some fine players last summer as the Whites won La Liga. One of the president’s recruit was left-back Ferland Mendy, who has quickly developed into one of the world’s best in his position. In doing so, the Frenchman has outdone Marcelo and therefore won over his manager’s tru...

Real Madrid considering Karim Benzema’s shocking departure to upgrade squad

Karim Benzema has been the soul of Real Madrid since Cristiano Ronaldo departed for Juventus in the summer of 2018. The French forward since then has taken his game to new heights and has been the leading goal-scorer for Los Blancos during this time. Despite the big signings such as Eden Hazard from Chelsea and Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, Karim Benzema has remained the untouchable and indispensable starter for Zinedine Zidane and quite rightly so. However, despite his clutch performances for Los Blancos day in and day out. Benzema could be on his way out next summer. According to Diario Gol, Florentino Perez wants to sign Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund next summer, however, the Norwegian wants to be a regular starter which indirectly means that Karim Benzema would have to be ...

Report: Inter Milan keen on January move for £90m Madrid man

According to Tuttosport (via DiarioGol), Inter Milan are keen on Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard and will look to bring him to San Siro when the winter transfer window Osborne months. The Belgium international has struggled with injuries since joining the La Liga giants from Chelsea in June 2019 for an initial £90 million in a five-year deal, featuring in just 28 games across all competitions. Hazard has scored just thrice and assisted seven times in those appearances, and he hasn’t had the type of impact manager Zinedine Zidane hoped for when he convinced President Florentino Perez to pursue his signature. The Madrid boss wanted a player that could replicate something similar to the type of impact Cristiano Ronaldo had at the Santiago Bernabeu, and landing the former Chelsea star was one o...

Jurgen Klopp: Mo Salah is happy at Liverpool

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp moved to dismiss speculation over Egypt forward Mohamed Salah’s future saying on Thursday he is happy at the Premier League champions. The 28-year-old gave an interview in Spain last week in which he said Barcelona and Real Madrid were top clubs and “who knows what will happen in the future”. This led to speculation over whether he was seeking a new longer-term contract beyond 2023 or he was upset Trent Alexander-Arnold had been given the captain’s armband for the Champions League group match with Midtjylland. “We do not speak about deals — well, not with you (the media). Why should we start now?” said Klopp at his press conference ahead of Sunday’s game with struggling West Brom. “Mo is in a good mood, always a good moment. He is in really good shape and that ...

Real Madrid ready to swap Marco Asensio for a galactico signing next summer

Marco Asensio was labelled as one of the most promising talents in world football after his breakthrough season with Real Madrid in 2016/17. The Spanish winger played a pivotal role in Zinedine Zidane’s first tenure and was often part of the starting eleven despite the star-studded line-up. Fast forward to today, Marco Asensio is on the brink of leaving Los Blancos. A report from Diaro GOL states that the winger could be on his way out at the end of the season in a swap deal for Fabian Ruiz of Napoli. In all fairness, Asensio has not been the same player he once was after rupturing his ACL in the 2019/20 friendly game against Bayern Munich. At the age of 24, the winger has already lost a yard of pace since his major injury and has been rather futile this season for Real Madrid. Instead, Ro...

Mohamed Salah Move to Real Madrid “Almost Impossible”

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017. Since then, he has become one of the best players on the planet, scoring 110 goals in 173 outings for the Reds in all competitions, winning two Premier League Golden Boots in the process. Salah has been sensational under Jurgen Klopp Recent comments by the Egyptian sparked rumours that his time at Anfield could be coming to an end, with other reports suggesting that he is unhappy at Liverpool and is considering a move. Real Madrid and Barcelona were the two main sides linked with the winger. However, journalist Alvaro Montero has dis...

Jose Mourinho drums support for under-fire Steven Bergwijn

Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Mourinho said the team are supporting Dutchman Steven Bergwijn who missed two clear chances in Wednesday’s top-of-the-table clash at Liverpool and received criticism on social media after the 2-1 defeat. “I don’t know what I can do apart from the player knowing in this club we are all together,” Mourinho told a news conference ahead of Sunday’s game at home to Leicester City. “We lose, we win and we draw all together. So he has us and we have him. In here we don’t feel any individual criticism, we never feel it that way, it is always about us, so no problem. “He’s one of my boys, period. There is no point to boo, to individualise. He’s a good professional, he works hard for the team, he gives everything he can.” Second-placed Spurs slipped three points behind L...
