Kem & Babyface to Embark on The Full Circle Tour With Host Sherri Shepherd
R&B legends Kem and Babyface are teaming up to hit the road together, and as an added bonus, longtime comedian Sherri Shepherd is set to host the musical festivities at each U.S. city. Beginning March 30 at the Virginia State University Center, Kem and collaborator Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds are set to make 26 stops nationwide as part of The Full Circle Tour, named after Kem’s upcoming extended play titled Full Circle. With highly anticipated performances in major cities including Baltimore, New Orleans, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Detroit, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, The Full Circle Tour is scheduled to culminate at the Oakland Arena in California on May 15. Sidney Miller, founder and publisher of Black Radio Exclusive (BRE) — one of the industry’s first Black music trade magazines — died Thursday in Arlington, Virginia, following a long illness. He was 89. Miller invested his savings and sold his house and car to pursue his dream of establishing a publication specifically targeting the Black music market. Launched in 1976, BRE became a pivotal force in underscoring the importance of Black radio and promoting the cultural and commercial impact of Black artists and Black music in the contemporary music arena. Miami rapper Wavy Navy Pooh was killed in an ambush shooting as he drove with two young children, local media reported. The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name was Shandler Beaubien, was stopped at a light Friday evening (Jan. 14) when a car pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire, killing him, the Miami Herald and WPLG-TV reported.
