Patients and staff members were invited to the parties, where MDMA, ketamine and methamphetamines were distributed and used. Local reports state that Quy had free reign while at the hospital. “Leave no trace.” So said the intimate gathering of roughly 100 Ethereum developers who descended upon the Catacombs of Paris for an illegal techno rave. Amid a tumultuous macroeconomic backdrop and $2 trillion crash for the cryptocurrency industry at large, attendees entered the 65-foot deep caverns, which are said to be lined with the skeletal remains of millions of plague victims, effectively making it the world’s largest grave. Crypto developers recently congregated in Paris for the annual Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), the largest European-based Ethereum summit, where 2,000 gathered for three days. A subset of developers visited the grim, centuries-old attraction, which was not associated with the conference. Scroll to Continue Recommended Articles...
Dr. David Heymann, former head of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergencies department and now a leading advisor, suggested that sexual transmission at two raves in Spain and Belgium may have spurred the recent outbreak of Monkeypox. However, names and details of the events were not shared. “We know monkeypox can spread when there is close contact with the lesions of someone who is infected, and it looks like sexual contact has now amplified that transmission,” Heymann told The Associated Press. Symptoms of Monkeypox—similar to past cases of smallpox though clinically less severe—include fevers, chills, muscle pains, headaches, and lesions on the face or genitals. The recovery period is usually a few weeks and does not require hospitalization. In the past, Monkeypox has typically s...

A bold group of Dutch ravers committed far from the perfect crime last weekend, hosting a secret rave in an under-construction police station in Amsterdam. 300 ravers attended the illicit party in the Zeeburg district, NME reports. “The building was practically full,” according to police. When they arrived, attendees reportedly climbed over fences flanking the police station, which surround the building in order to gain entry. A police department spokesperson also said that some revelers cut holes in the fences and caused damage. Via the Lexington Herald-Leader, one man was even impaled through the abdomen. The event took place in Edmonson County in a town so small it doesn’t have a stoplight. The five-day festival was organized by country rapper Justin Time, and was supposed to boast “mud, music and mayhem.” According to Sheriff Shane Doyle, he knew it would be trouble after performing a routine search on the very first arrivals. “The first vehicle that came through, we found meth, marijuana, and an open alcohol container,” he said. “And then one of the occupants had two active warrants… We were like ‘well, this doesn’t bode well for the we...
