ICE FM: The World’s Most Remote — and Coldest — Radio Station

In pictures, it’s difficult to say whether or not McMurdo Station is actually on the remote, icy planet Hoth from Star Wars. A cluster of low-lying dwellings sprout out from volcanic rock and are surrounded by miles and miles of snow and ice. But it is indeed located here on Earth, in Antarctica.  The American research base has been operating since 1955. In that desolate, frozen, isolation, scientists perform vital astrophysics, biology, geology, glaciology, geomorphology, ice core, ocean, and climate systems research. The station currently hosts a large staff of 600, which blossoms to around 1,000 during the “summer” season. Nigeria orders broadcasters not to use Twitter to gather information

Nigerian television and radio stations should not use Twitter to gather information and have to de-activate their accounts, the broadcast authority said following the move to suspend the US social media giant in Africa’s most populous country. Nigeria’s government on Friday said it had suspended Twitter’s activities, two days after the platform removed a tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari that threatened to punish secessionists. Nigerian telecoms firms have since blocked access to Twitter. International diplomats responded with a joint statement in support of “free expression and access to information as a pillar of democracy in Nigeria”. BBNaija winner Laycon to release debut album next year

BBNaija Lockdown winner Olamilekan Agbeleshe aka Laycon has announced his plans to release his debut album in 2021. Laycon made the announcement to his fans during his GOtv Iconic tour in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, a few days ago. During a meet and greet session at the Ebong Uko hall, Monty Suites, Laycon dropped the news to the excitement of many of his fans. During his two-day tour of the city, Laycon paid a courtesy visit to the Hon.
