Source: TOM WILLIAMS / Getty Lindsey Graham and his fellow Republicans are currently on a hellbent mission to fill the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat by confirming conservative Judge Amy Coney Barrett. During the confirmation hearing, Graham said something that had ears perking all over the country. Wednesday (oct.14), Graham asked Barrett if she was confident that the iconic 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision that determined segregation in schools was unconstitutional “super-precedent,” meaning there no chance it could be overturned unless challenged by legislative bodies because she is “not aware of any effort to go back to the good old days of segregation via legislative body.” As expected, Graham’s comment raised eyebrows, and he was immediately call...
Source: KEN CEDENO / Getty A hotly contested battle for a U.S. Senate seat in South Carolina is underway, with longtime Republican incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham set to square off against Democratic challenger Jamie Harrison. During a Friday night debate event, Sen. Graham rejected Harrison’s request that he take a coronavirus test ahead of the debate. With Harrison refusing to be in the same place as his opponent, the format of the faceoff shifted to a forum style question and answer session instead and hosted by local outlet News 19 WLTX. While on location in Spartansburg, S.C., both Graham and Harrison were given 30 minut...
Source: Handout / Getty As the presidential election sits just 27 days out, the campaigns for President Donald Trump and his Democratic Party rival Joe Biden are entering a relentless push to the home stretch. Biden’s team rolled out a new video featuring Former First Lady Michelle Obama, where she framed some of the actions from Trump as racist. In a 24-minute video, Obama offers her reasonings on why Americans should cast their ballot for Biden, citing Trump’s record on race relations, drumming up fear in his base, and ignoring the truths regarding white privilege. “Think about it. You’ve worked hard all your life, and for too long, you’ve watched the rich get richer. You’ve seen your beloved towns shattered by joblessness, and it’s frustrating to hear some folks say that you’ve been the...
Source: NICHOLAS KAMM / Getty President Donald Trump, fresh from selling a so-called “Platinum Plan” for Black America to drum up votes, might need to address a claim made by a United Kingdom news outlet. According to the report, Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign database listed millions of Black voters as “deterrence” in the file. The UK’s Channel 4 has much more: In 16 key battleground states, millions of Americans were separated by an algorithm into one of eight categories, also described as ‘audiences’, so they could then be targeted with tailored ads on Facebook and other platforms. One of the categories was named ‘Deterrence’, which was later described publicly by Trump’s chief data scientist as containing people that the campaign “hope don’t show up to vote”. Source: The Washington Post / Getty It’s only been a day since Joe Biden announced Kamala Harris as his choice for vice president, and the racists are already hard at work trying to throw mud on her name. Newsweek’s credibility as of late has been sketchy and understandably so. The once-respected publication has become a breeding ground for far-right nonsense ran an op-ed just hours after Biden’s announcement about Senator Kamala Harris claiming that she’s not even a United States citizen. What makes op-ed even more suspect is that it was written by John Eastman, who ran against her. He also wrote the same kind of article, making the exact opposite argument in favor of Ted Cruz. Immediately after the Josh Hammer, the opinion editor for Newsweek hit the publish butto...

In a new piece by the Los Angeles Times, the company’s culture of Hawaiian shorts and peppy workers happy to point you to their latest snacks and precooked meal options is juxtaposed against Trader Joe’s use of names and imagery deemed insensitive by some, most especially in the wake of recent protests.
