Lagos governor restructures works and infrastructure ministry
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the restructuring of the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure by re-establishing the Office of Works and Office of Infrastructure. In a statement released late Friday night, Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, explained that the restructuring of the ministry was necessitated by the volume of work ahead of the present administration in the state led by Sanwo-Olu and the need to implement relevant structural reviews that would facilitate faster attainment of government’s policy objectives. NSCDC dismisses officer for ‘looting’ virus palliatives in Abuja
SIGNAL The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has dismissed a Corps Assistant, Illiya Ibrahim, from service for allegedly looting COVID-19 palliatives discovered in a warehouse in Gwagwalada, Abuja. It was gathered that Ibrahim of the Gwagwalada Division Abuja was seen with some food items while wearing the NSCDC uniform at the scene where hundreds of youths looted COVID-19 palliatives in Abuja. Ibrahim’s sacking was contained in a press statement by the Media Assistant to the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ekunola Gbenga, on Tuesday. Ogun governor approves productivity bonus for health workers
Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has approved the immediate payment of Special Productivity Bonus for all categories of health workers in the state public service. Mr Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, said this in a statement on Friday, in Abeokuta. Somorin said the bonus, which was a one-time payment was applicable to all health workers in the state who were on active service as at the end of August. NGO: Make sex, reproductive health education compulsory in schools
The Nigeria Female Youth Organisation (NFYO), a non-governmental organisation, has urged appropriate authorities to make sex and reproductive health education compulsory in post primary schools. Mimi Peters, President, NFYO, made the call on Saturday while addressing newsmen in Abuja during a joint briefing with Michelle Youth Initiative (MYI). Peters said the roles of guardians and councilors in schools should be reintroduced and strengthened with emphasis on moral education. Anambra commissioner warns tricycle operators against peddling falsehood
The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Madubuko, has warned Commercial Tricycle Owners and Riders Welfare Association of Anambra State, CTORWAAS, and their alleged paid agents to desist from peddling false allegations against his Ministry or face the wrath of the law.
