The annual Sin City gathering will not take place this year. Psycho Las Vegas 2023 Fest Postponed Until Next Year: “The Desired Lineup Could Not Be Achieved” Spencer Kaufman
With a new and larger venue at Resorts World, the 2022 edition of the Psycho Las Vegas festival took place this past weekend, serving up its most diverse lineup yet. The six stages offered something for everyone, and despite a few last-minute scheduling changes the festival once again went off without a hitch. The festivities unofficially kicked off on Thursday (August 18th) with the annual Psycho Swim party, which brought many to the pool area to soak up the sun (and the beer) while watching Uniform, Starcrawler, Death Chant, Bridge City Sinners, Elders, and Eyehategod, before Midnight closed out the evening with one of their heaviest and most frantic sets in recent memory. The festival got its official start on Friday (August 19th) and highlights throughout the day included Devil Master,...
After announcing several initial bands, Psycho Las Vegas has revealed the second wave of acts for its 2022 lineup. Mercyful Fate, Emperor, and Suicidal Tendencies will headline the fest, set for August 19th-21st at Resorts World Las Vegas. The rest of the stacked bill includes many heavy metal luminaries from across the globe, plus a few notable alternative and hip-hop artists: Mayhem, Boris, High on Fire, Cirith Ungol, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Carcass, At the Gates, Warpaint, Wolves in the Throne Room, Carpenter Brut, and Wu-Tang Clan members Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and GZA. In addition to Emperor and Mayhem, who will be making their only 2022 US appearances at the festival, there will be a notable contingent of European extreme metal acts on the bill, as well, including Satyricon, Ulver,...
After canceling last year’s event due to the pandemic, and a plethora of last-minute lineup changes due to travel restrictions, Psycho Las Vegas seemingly pulled an ace from their sleeve. The festival returned this past weekend for a reworked and revamped 2021 edition that still rivaled any of their previous years. The festivities kicked off on Thursday (August 19th) with the annual Psycho Swim party, despite the cancellation of The Skull (sadly, singer Eric Wagner just passed away from COVID pneumonia). Old Man Gloom, Bongzilla, and Blackwater Holylight had all those who arrived to the festival early in the pool, beers in hand. The festival got off to its official start on Friday, with Twin Temple on the main stage at 1 p.m. COVID protocols were in place throughout the resort, and everyon...

Danzig and Emperor are still on board as headliners, but Mercyful Fate have dropped off the bill, with Down moving up into the vacant headlining slot. Back in June 2020, after it was announced that last year’s edition of the fest wouldn’t be taking place, organizers revealed that most of the planned 2020 lineup would return in 2021. However, a number of those acts are no longer on the bill, including Mercyful Fate, Boris, At the Gates, Katatoni...
Danzig (photo by Heather Kaplan), Mercyful Fate’s King Diamond (photo by Kevin RC Wilson) Psycho Las Vegas has revealed its 2021 lineup, and it features most of the acts who were set to perform on the festival’s 2020 bill. Danzig, Mercyful Fate, and Emperor will headline, just as they would have done this summer if the fest wasn’t called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In essence, the 2020 edition of Psycho Las Vegas has been rescheduled for 2021. In addition to the three headliners, such notable acts as The Flaming Lips, Blue Öyster Cult, Down, Mayhem, Satyricon, Obituary, Warpaint, Blonde Redhead, Katatonia, Amigo the Devil, Thursday, Pig Destroyer, Watain, Poison the Well, and more have all committed to the 2021 fest. Among the acts who were scheduled to play in 2020 but are no ...
The Psycho Las Vegas festival will no longer take place in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, organizers hope to have most of the scheduled acts return for the 2021 edition of the multi-day event at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. This year’s edition, slated for August 13th-16th, was set to feature Danzig, Mercyful Fate, Emperor, The Flaming Lips, Blue Öyster Cult, Down, Mayhem, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and many more acts. According to a statement from organizers, “nearly all bands have signed on for the new dates but we are awaiting confirmation from one final artist before presenting our updated lineup.” Those new dates, which include the Psycho Swim pre-party, run August 19th-22th, 2021. Technically, the event is being rescheduled, which means ticket holders can us...
