Montell Fish became a musician the same way he began his latest album: with a broken heart. “I was passionate and I went through a breakup,” he says. “Every time I go through a breakup, I write a good album.” At the time, Fish was 16 years old, and newly kicked out of his mother’s house due to a budding romance with drugs. (“Weed edibles, and then psychedelics like shrooms,” he elaborates). Quickly, he spiraled into a state of depression, unsuccessfully juggling the breakup with a girlfriend and familial tumult, turning to music creation, and eventually, God, for reprieve. “I was just so low and depressed that I started calling out to God like, ‘If you’re real, show me,’” he explains. “And then I began to see the God that my mom knew.” Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See...
On March 22 in Pittsburgh, nine shows into the first leg of her When I Close My Eyes North American tour, Chelsea Cutler hit a wall. The Connecticut-born, New York-based artist had missed performing so much throughout the COVID-19 pandemic — deprived of the natural dopamine hit. But renewed adrenaline couldn’t compensate for a headache and strained vocal chords. Cutler finished her set at Stage AE and decided not to do her usual three-song encore. Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news “And I remember just feeling so guilty for making that decision, because I felt so selfish,” Cutler says. “From that point of the tour onwards, I was like, ‘I can’t let people down like that. These shows aren’t about me.’ That flipped the switch in me, and I was...
In a rather forgettable season, Juventus had their nine-year reign as Serie A champions ended by rivals Inter Milan in 2020/21. An embarrassing loss to Porto saw the Old Lady bow out of the Champions League round of 16. The sacking of Andrea Pirlo seemed inevitable. Massimiliano Allegri has now returned to his former club, where he won five consecutive Serie A titles. He will be eager to bring Juve back to the top. In a bid to revamp the squad, the Italian giants are looking to bolster their midfield. Manuel Locatelli is reportedly the number one midfield target for Juventus. He has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool. Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved: “We’re in talks with Sassuolo to sign Locatelli. We’re convinced we made the right bid to reach an agreement, we’re really conf...
For Tottenham Hotspur, the thought of losing Harry Kane is inconceivable. The 27-year-old has been the most prolific goalscorer in England for the past five years. Kane is already one of the best strikers of his generation and has single-handedly carried Spurs for the past few seasons. Despite the club finishing 7th in the Premier League table, Kane ended last season as the top scorer and top assister. He is now desperate to win silverware and stated his desire to do so back in May in a detailed interview with Gary Neville. Kane stopped short of openly stating a desire to move away from Tottenham, but the insinuation was clear to see. Spurs are reluctant to sell, but they may find it difficult to keep hold of in the face of serious interest from Manchester City. If Kane does jump ship, a&n...
With the return of Martin Odegaard to Real Madrid, Arsenal have a creative hole in Mikel Arteta’s preferred 4-2-3-1 system. The Gunners could try and re-sign the Norwegian, but a move seems unlikely at the moment. An attacking midfielder is the key to Arsenal’s ability to get the ball into dangerous areas and create chances. Although there are still question marks around Arteta’s tactical style, it needs someone who can dominate the space between the opposition’s midfield and defensive lines and weigh in with goals. Such a player would allow the dynamic wide runners like Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe to use their pace and exploit space behind opposition defences. SL View Arteta desperately needs to replace Odegaard, and Bordeaux’s Yacine Adli is the ideal man for the ...

Charlie McNeill has already caused a stir of excitement since rejoining Manchester United from local rivals Manchester City. The 17-year-old is a lifelong United fan and grew up playing for the academy with the likes of Mason Greenwood. However, he made the controversial switch to Manchester City in 2013 to get more playing time. After scoring 600 goals in six years for City’s academy, no one could argue that McNeill isn’t an exceptional talent. Despite facing interest from RB Leipzig, Juventus and a host of English clubs, McNeill decided to re-join his boyhood club Manchester United in 2020. He signed for the Red Devils for an initial fee of £750,000 plus bonuses. Playing style The striker has been sensational in front of goal for United’s U18s, netting 21 times in 24 appearances. 6,727 days. That is how long ago Wayne Rooney made his senior debut as a footballer. In his long and illustrious career, Wazza pretty much did and won it all (except an international trophy). Now, ‘Roonaldo’ has decided to hang up his boots in favour of smoother patent leather shoes, so let’s take a look back at the last 18-odd years when he has graced football pitches all around the world. An early introduction Rooney joined the Everton youth set-up aged nine after scoring 99 goals in one season in a local junior league – ninety-nine. That was a sign of things to come, and they started on July 15, 2002, when Rooney netted for Everton in a friendly against SC Weiz, an Austrian club. About a month later, the teenager made his Premier League debut when he started in Everton’s match against T...

One of the reasons for Kerala Blasters’ poor showing so far this season is the long-term injury that key midfielder Sergio Cidoncha suffered against Chennaiyin FC in late November. Now, over a month later, they have signed his replacement, Juan de Dios Prados López. The Spanish midfielder started his career aged 19 at Real Betis, before moving to Granada on loan six years later. After stints with lower-division sides including Spezia in Spain, Belgium and Italy, the 34-year-old midfielder travelled to Australia to play for Perth Glory in 2018, winning the Players’ Player of the Year Award in both of his seasons in the A-League. His next move sees him cross the ocean once again, but he’ll stop in India to join Kerala Blasters. Here is what we can expect from him in the ISL: Playing Style Ju...
Cuisance possesses a playstyle reminiscent of his former Spanish teammate Thiago. There is a large emphasis on progressive passes through or over top opposition back lines, and a sublime first touch and technique that allows him to run with the ball through opponent’s midfield with ease. Cuisance’s first thought is always to look for the ball forwards that will directly lead to a goal-scoring opportunity. He is capable of changing directions with the drop of a shoulder or picking out a run of a winger exploiting an opposition defender who has momentarily switched off. At 1.81m, Cuisance is a robust and agile player, who is able to hold his own defensively, however, this is still a facet of his game that needs to improve. He is also a threat in the final third, showcased in his long-range s...
