The media directorate of Anambra billionaire industrialist, Prince Arthur Eze has released a statement slamming the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, as an ‘accidental’ minister. The statement, a response to the call by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige for the further banishment of the suspended 12 Anambra traditional rulers and their sponsor. The crisis began with the visit of 12 monarchs from Anambra State to Aso Villa to meet with President Buhari, at the instance of the billionaire businessman Prince Arthur Eze. Over the past few weeks, Prince’s estate has steadily released a slew of unheard tracks from the prolific artist’s vault. The songs will be on the upcoming Sign O’ the Times box set and today, they shared “Forever In My Life (Early Vocal Studio Run-Through).” The track, which was recorded on Aug. 8, 1986 at Prince’s Galpin Boulevard home studio, features Prince (who originally recorded the song on acoustic guitar) playing every instrument, including drums and bass, and he added guitars and backing vocal tracks to it. The upbeat, yet laid-back song captures his vulnerability of that time. “He had been up all night and he came upstairs. It was like 7:00 in the morning and he grabbed my hand and said ‘follow me’, and so I followed him downstairs. The sun was coming through the ...

Prince’s estate has just dropped the original version of “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man,” from 1979. The minimal-sounding demo is part of the the ridiculously stacked reissue of Prince’s 1987 double LP, Sign O’ the Times, which is set to drop on Sept. 25. Recorded at Hollywood Sound Recorders, Studio A on May 23, 1979, this cut of “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” was done while Prince was recording his self-titled EP that dropped that same year. The tune was then shelved for some time until it was taken out of the vault and rerecorded in June 1986 and became part of Sign O’ the Times. Since it was recorded in the late ’70s, “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” is the reissue’s oldest recording. The estate also shared the original handwritten lyrics for the song, ...
The album — the guitarist’s first in a decade — will arrive Aug. 14. One of Neil Young’s best-known lyrics — “It’s better to burn out than to fade away” — can be applied to numerous casualties of ’60s rock n’ roll. Yet despite the turmoil he has experienced over his career, Doors guitarist Robby Krieger has neither burned out nor faded away. Krieger wrote some of The Doors’ best songs, including “Light My Fire,” “Love Me Two Times,” “Touch Me” and “Love Her Madly.” And for the past 10 years, he has written jazz, blues and rock music from his home studio; guested on other people’s albums; formed the charity Art for a Cause to sell prints of his colorful paintings; and performed both Doors tunes and his solo material on tour. Now, a decade since his last album, ...
