As Deadline reports, the new prequel The Winchesters will flesh out the mythology of John and Mary Winchester, parents of original heroes Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). Mad Max Spinoff Furiosa Receives 2023 Release Date
Mark those calendars, ’cause Warner Bros. has officially announced a release date for Furiosa. The Mad Max spinoff film will arrive on June 23rd, 2023. Furiosa serves as the prequel to the acclaimed 2015 epic Mad Max: Fury Road. George Miller is returning to direct, co-write, and produce the project alongside Doug Mitchell. An exact premise hasn’t been revealed, but as its title indicates, the movie will revolve around a young Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. Our 2020 Performer of the Year has unsurprisingly picked up a ton of buzz the last few months thanks to The Queen’s Gambit, the most viewed scripted limited-series in Netflix history. Things are starting to rev up for George Miller’s Mad Max spinoff film Furiosa. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II have climbed aboard the next parable in the wasteland. Taylor-Joy will play a young Furiosa, a role originally iconized by Charlize Theron, who will not be a part of the production. As of press time, it’s unclear who Hemsworth and Abdul-Mateen II will be playing. It’s funny how both have played gods of sorts. Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead has grown from a lone Netflix movie to a shambling horde of a franchise. Via Variety, the director and the streamer have now announced a new prequel film and anime series. Snyder actually began his career by directing 2004’s Dawn of the Dead, which had a script from another soon-to-be blockbuster director, James Gunn. But this isn’t a return to Romero; Army of the Dead is Snyder’s own creation.
