4 Suspects Charged in Pop Smoke Murder Case
Four suspects have been charged in the murder of rising rapper Pop Smoke. Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges on Monday. Two of the suspects, 19-year-old Corey Walker and 18-year-old Keandre Rodgers, face either life in prison or the death penalty if convicted. Two additional suspects, both of whom are minors, were each charged with one count of murder and robbery in juvenile court. Jaquan Murphy was also arrested last week on attempted murder charges. Today (July 9), the Los Angeles Police Department announced that three adult males and two juveniles got pinched for the February 19 murder of Pop Smoke. Born Bashar Jackson, he was staying in a Hollywood Hills home where he was the victim of a home invasion. In security footage of the incident, four men are described as creeping up on the Hollywood Hills crib of the “Dior” rapper around 4:30 in the morning.
