Alanis Morissette (Finally) Celebrates 25 Years of Jagged Little Pill in Montreal: Review, Video, and Setlist
Like so many other highly anticipated world tours, Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette had to wait an extra two years to finally mark 25 Years of Jagged Little Pill — or if we’re being pedantic, 27 years. After kicking things off in Europe, the Ottawa native began the North American leg of the tour in her hometown on July 10th before performing at Montreal’s Bell Centre two days later. Noah Weiland, the son of late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, has released his debut solo EP, titled Last Kiss Before Detox. The three-song effort includes his recent single, “One Day,” along with two new tracks. The last couple of years have been tumultuous for Noah, who was kicked out of the now-defunct band Suspect208, which also featured Slash’s son London Hudson on drums and Robert Trujillo’s son Tye Trujillo on bass. The other members of the group cited Noah’s “dark path of drug use” as the reason for his ouster. In an interview with iHeartRadio a couple months ago, Noah revealed that he entered rehab after parting ways with the band, but insisted that his addiction to drugs actually started after he was let go from the group. When he was younger, Latin Grammy Award nominee KURT used to sing Sting’s songs at bars where he’d perform in his native Mexico. Now, he’s singing one of them with Sting. The two have joined forces for “Por Su Amor,” a new Spanish version of “For Her Love” from Sting’s 2021 studio album, The Bridge. The recording will be released this Friday, April 8th, via all streaming services, along with a video (premiering exclusively below) that was filmed in early March in Los Angeles. It follows Sting’s solo version of the Spanish language track, released back in February. Roxy Music Announce Vinyl Reissue of First Two Albums
Roxy Music are reissuing their first two albums, Roxy Music and For Your Pleasure, on vinyl. These new pressings are due out on April 1st via Virgin/UMe. Originally released in 1972 and 1973, respectively, Roxy Music and For Your Pleasure are the band’s only albums to include Brian Eno, who rounded out the group of Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera, and Paul Thompson. Roxy Music peaked at No. 10 on the UK Albums Chart, while its follow up reached No. 4. Both albums received half-speed remasters at Abbey Road Studios by engineer Miles Showell (The Beatles, Amy Winehouse, Marvin Gaye).
