The supergroup packs a serious pedigree, featuring singer Tim Armstrong and bassist Matt Freeman of Rancid; guitarist Fletcher Dragge and drummer Byron McMackin of Pennywise; and Suicidal Tendencies vocalist Mike Muir. If anyone know about punk ethics, it’s these guys. “One Voice” preaches inclusivity, a vital element of punk culture that’s become harder to...

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-13T16:48:38+00:00“>May 13, 2021 | 12:48pm ET The Offspring have shared the music video for their song “We Never Have Sex Anymore”. The humorous clip stars Full House actor John Stamos alongside chimpanzees that literally reenact the song’s lyrics. The track hails from the punk-rock veterans’ latest album, Let the Bad Times Roll, and tells the tale of an aging couple who’ve lost the spark. In the video, the couple’s played by two chimpanzees with extraordinary acting abilities. The husband chimp, dressed in a shirt and tie, comes home to his wife from work, but his sexual advances are rebuffed. When the wife chimp, donning a nightgown, tries to move in later in the evening, she’s ...

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-06T22:09:22+00:00“>May 6, 2021 | 6:09pm ET The Lowdown: We’ve spent the first months of 2021 wrestling with some truly difficult questions. How will the pandemic end? Can America recover from its increasingly violent political polarization? Is Weezer actually good again? While the answers to those first two are still forthcoming, the last one seemed more straightforward — upon its surprise arrival in January, the band’s 14th studio album, OK Human, delivered some of Weezer’s most lyrically confessional and musically adventurous songs in recent memory. That record largely succeeded thanks to its grounded relatability, two words which seem unlikely to describe the followup to OK Hu...
<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-04T18:36:48+00:00“>May 4, 2021 | 2:36pm ET Pop-punk has crept back onto the charts, and its latest takeover is well underway — without any live shows and long after the end of Warped Tour, a hallmark of the genre’s previous reign. In the past year, pop-punk has made its comeback, but with the help of some unlikely forces. The first of those forces are hip-hop crossovers, which have propelled pop-punk to the top of the charts. 24kGoldn and iann dior’s single, “Mood”, blended elements of pop-punk and hip-hop and went to No. 1. On the Alternative Airplay chart, All Time Low got their first No. 1 with their single “Monsters”, which featured hip-hop star blackbear. A remix featuring D...

While few details have been announced, the event will take place May 5th-7th, 2023, at an undisclosed venue to mark the 20th anniversary of the first edition of the festival. Over the years, The Bamboozle boasted My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, Newfound Glory, and countless other bands. While it became known as an emo destination, the New Jersey fest also featured such varied acts as Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, D...
Pop punk band Wavves have returned with “Sinking Feeling”, their first new song since 2017. Check it out via the accompanying music video below. “Sinking Feeling” marks the return of Wavves to Fat Possum Records and came together with the help of TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek after the band initially workshopped the song in a series of now-abandoned studio sessions. Although the single’s surf rock guitars evoke summertime, the lyrics address the all-encompassing darkness of depression. “It’s there on your face/ It sits in your mind,” sings frontman Nathan Williams. “It’s like this all the time.” In a statement, Williams elaborated on the meaning of the track. “‘Sinking Feeling’ is a song about a wave of depression that keeps coming back,” he said. “It’s that sinking feeling that drags ...
