QAnon, Citing The Simpsons, Says Something Is Happening September 24th

The Simpsons has a history of predicting the future, but QAnon is taking the animated series’ perceived abilities to the next level. As Vice reports, the conspiracy group is certain that something bad is going to happen on September 24th, and they’re basing their assumptions on one episode of the series and a poor choice of words from a German politician. While no one at QAnon is certain what, exactly, is going to happen on September 24th, followers on different platforms have thrown around the possibility of nuclear war, a financial crisis, water poisoning, and an armed revolution. The conspiracy theorists first got the idea for a fall armageddon when German lawmaker Friedrich Merz, speaking about the Russian invasion of Ukraine earlier this month, misspoke and said everyon...

Dog the Bounty Hunter Predicts That “Like Hitler,” Biden Will “Commit Suicide” After Midterms

Duane Chapman has gone from bounty hunter to evangelist speaker, and the results are as bad as you’d imagine. The television personality, better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, opined at a recent Christian conference that President Biden, who he referred to as “little Hitler,” stole the 2020 election, but that Republicans would restore the rightful political balance after sweeping this year’s midterms. He then predicted that Biden would follow Hitler’s footsteps and commit suicide after his defeat. Chapman was speaking at the aptly titled Opening the Heavens conference when he made these remarks. Recounting to the audience that he asked God why he would allow Biden to win (or steal) the election, the bounty hunter explained that the “bad thing” happened in order to show “God’s manifestatio...

Why Were Bear Grylls and Sandra Oh at the Queen’s Funeral?

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8th has attracted mourners from all stretches of the imagination, from an astoundingly long queue of British civilians waiting to pay their respects to  the more surprising guests at her funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19th. Among the royals, famous family friends, and foreign Heads of State like President Joe Biden, two attendees grabbed the attention of viewers for their seemingly random place at the proceedings: Bear Grylls and Sandra Oh. The two entertainment star’s attendance was actually not that unusual considering both were serving as representatives for organizations that would be expected to send dignitaries to any important event related to The Crown. Grylls was invited as the Chief Scout for the United Kingdo...

Murder Conviction of Serial’s Adnan Syed Should Be Vacated, Say Prosecutors

Baltimore prosecutors have filed a motion to vacate the murder conviction of Adnan Syed, the subject of the trailblazing podcast Serial and a four-part HBO docuseries. It follows a nearly year-long reinvestigation into the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee conducted with the defense, which has uncovered new evidence (via The Wall Street Journal). Though the prosecutors aren’t stating Syed’s innocence, they are requesting a new trial and recommending he be released on his own recognizance while the investigation continues. Thus far, prosecutors have found new information suggesting the involvement of two more suspects. “The State no longer has confidence in the integrity of the conviction,” said Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby. She continued, “After reviewing the evidence and the new...

The Joker’s Real Name Revealed as Jack White, Other Jack White Responds

For all the havoc he wreaks on Gotham, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the Joker. DC’s comic book series Flashpoint Beyond has divulged some crucial info, however, finally unveiling his very familiar-sounding name: Jack White. In issue #5 of Flashpoint Beyond — a sequel to 2011’s DC-universe-altering Flashpoint — Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne (this universe’s Batman), heads to Arkham Asylum to meet with his estranged, incarcerated wife Martha (this universe’s Joker). Martha tells Thomas that she forced Psycho-Pirate, a villain notable for having extensive knowledge of the multiverse, to reveal everything he knew about the main DC Universe timeline, including the Joker’s real name — which, of course, he shares with the former White Stripes frontman. Tha...

Famous Transphobe J.K. Rowling’s New Book Is About a Woman Who Is Persecuted for Being Transphobic

It may seem odd to try to make a racist transphobe a sympathetic character, but hey, that’s J.K. Rowling for you. The author’s latest book, The Ink Black Heart, is all about a content creator who is persecuted for being transphobic — a novel idea, considering Rowling’s history. The Ink Black Heart is part of Rowling’s crime series Cormoran Strike and is written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. In the book, YouTube cartoon creator Edie Ledwell is criticized for being racist, ableist, and transphobic in her work (per Rolling Stone). Soon enough, she’s doxxed with photos of her home spread online and receives death and rape threats. You’d be right to assume Rowling got the idea for The Ink Black Heart from her own life, since she has, in recent years, tweeted her supp...
