The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised the alarm over the arrest and assault of a party member, Engineer Abdul Ganiyu, by security officials in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area, over allegations leveled against him by the PDP. The Rivers State Police Command has directed Commanders of all Tactical Units to commence arms mop-up exercise across the state. Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Joseph Mukan in a statement, said the decision to carry out the arms mop-up was in line with the directive by the Inspector General of Police rid the country of illegal possession of firearms. The Police in Delta have confirmed the arrest of a 30-year-old man identified as Jomaph who allegedly raped an 11-year-old girl in Sapele town, Sapele LGA of Delta.
