The Additional Commissioner of Police Shikha Goel warned Indian citizens about the rise in cybercrime in an event hosted by the city police of Hyderabad, India, suggesting not to transfer cryptocurrencies to unauthorized private wallets. Goel highlighted the various methods that are actively being used by fraudsters to dupe investors such as lucrative investment opportunities, illegitimate bank transfers and cryptocurrencies. A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of Fernando Octavio Rodriguez, an Imagine Music Festival attendee who reportedly died near the event after an encounter with police. On September 20th, 2019, law enforcement were summoned to an intersection near the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where a naked man was reported wandering around, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Police confronted Rodriguez and stunned him at least 16 times when he refused to comply, according to the complaint. There’s a rising concern among researchers that substance policing tactics at music festivals are actually causing harm amongst attendees rather than preventing it. Researchers at St Vincent’s Clinical School at the University of NSW explored the phenomenon of “panic overdoses” at music festivals—a reactionary behavior that causes attendees to consume high amounts of prohibited substances out of fear of being apprehended by law enforcement. Abraham Hurtado-Castrejon was arrested outside of a local grocery store and booked on charges of issuing threats in a potential an act of terrorism. A London man has been sentenced for committing multiple acts of voyeurism in August at the Bygrave Woods-based Warm Up Festival. Christopher Bicourt admitted to 13 counts of voyeurism and will be sentenced to 24 weeks of jail time, the Royston Crow reports. Bicourt must also become a registered sex offender for five years. Bicourt, 44, was reportedly discovered to have been filming unsuspecting attendees privately with the intent of using those images for his own personal gratification.
