Poison frontman Bret Michaels was hospitalized yesterday (June 30) in Nashville “due to an unforeseen medical complication,” forcing the band to cancel its performance in Music City as part of its Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Joan Jett and Classless Act. “To all the incredible fans in Nashville, thank you for all your well wishes!!” Michaels, 59, wrote on his Instagram account. “I was truly fired up to get on stage in the Music City and perform, but due to an unforeseen medical complication and following hospitalization, it was not possible. NBMA reiterates commitment to clamp down on GMOs
The National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, Tuesday, reiterated commitment to ensuring the eradication of Genetically Modified Organisms, (GMOs) in the country, as well as assuring Nigerians of safe products in the market. The Director-General of the NBMA, Dr. Rufus Ebegba, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Abuja, stating that Nigerians should be aware of the roles of the Agency in the proper regulation of GMOs in the country. He insisted that the NBMA has not been resting on its oars in ensuring that only safe and approved genetically modified seeds and grains for food and feed processing are allowed into the Nigerian market. A 23-year-old 100 level student of Osun State University, Ikire campus Juba Orisajafor on Tuesday drank poison and died few hours he preached against suicide on his WhatsApp. It was gathered that Orisajafor on Tuesday morning around updated his WhatsApp status, condemning suicide. A Grade I Area Court Judge asked a 65-year-old man, Samuel Maduakar, to forgive and pray for his “problem daughter” Ifeoma to change. The police charged Ifeoma, 27, with criminal intimidation, assault and mischief on Feb.19. The police alleged that she attacked her father and threatened to poison him. The judge, Muhammad Adamu, said:”you have to continue to pray to God to change her. “You must accept the defendant’s apology when she apologises”. Adamu also told the defendant to respect her father. “To whom much is given, much is expected. “Your parents have done their best for you. You appreciate them and respect them,” he said.
