HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Mondadori Portfolio / Getty Nicki Minaj’s latest social media antics have many, including the Barbs thinking she was being really shady to other female Hip-Hop artists. Queen Barb Nicki Minaj raised eyebrows on social media after sharing a HotNewHipHop Op-Ed written by Joshua Robinson titled Why Nicki Minaj Is One of the Greatest of All Time. Of course, it’s a no-brainer that Minaj would share a piece praising her, and acknowledging her contributions to the genre, but it’s what she did with the screengrab from the post that even has her Barbz asking why? The original paragraph in the piece read: “Yet, what’s most astonishing and powerful about Nicki’s impact on Hip-Hop is her presence and, sometimes, the lack thereof. Whether she’s going on an unexp...

HHW Gaming Exclusive: ‘Halo The Series’ Showrunner & Executive Producer Speak About Making Better Video Game Movies & TV Shows

Video Games developed into films, and now television shows should be a homerun for studios because they are rich with source material to work with, but as we all know for a long time, that hasn’t been the case for many years. Thanks to shows like Halo The Series and other successful movies based on video games, that trend seems to be coming to an end. Halo The Series is just one day away from premiering on Paramount+, but the show is already polarizing, dividing franchise fans. The show, which is nine years in the making, follows Pablo Schreiber’s Master Chief and the Silver Team on a new timeline, moving away from the messy one we have experienced in the insanely-popular Halo video games. The idea the game is not sticking with the storyline, Schreiber’s version of the John 117 taken off h...

HHW Tech Review: The Galaxy Note Lives On In Samsung’s New S22 Ultra Smartphone

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls (@BeanzGotGamez) / Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Samsung took a bold step with one of its latest flagship smartphones, and it was a VERY wise decision. After months of speculation, Samsung casually “killed off” its relatively popular Galaxy Note model, making the exceptional Note20 Ultra the device’s swan song. At the same time, Samsung also decided to keep what made the Note line great and just introduce it into the S22 Ultra model, bringing together loyal Note users and with the other Galaxy smartphone users. A decision that we believe will benefit Samsung in the long run. Ralph Lauren x Morehouse & Spelman Collection Draws Cheers & Jeers

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Nadine Ijewere / Polo Ralph Lauren On Tuesday, March 15, Ralph Lauren announced an upcoming capsule collection titled A Portrait of the American Dream, that blends the brand’s classic Americana stylings with the sartorial heritage of Atlanta-based HBCUs Morehouse College and Spelman College. The announcement was a true exercise of craft, featuring a combination of visually striking photos from Nadine Ijewere and an equally stunning video—both felt more like a time capsule than a lookbook. In the imagery, we see Black people of all pigments dressed to the nines in gear inspired by styles seen in Morehouse and Spelman yearbooks between 1920 and 1950. To call the campaign beautiful is an understatement. Here, we see a sartorial excellence in lockstep with th...
