When Lollapalooza moved its festival from Grant Park in Chicago to everyone’s computer screens due to the pandemic, the longtime music fest also promised the return of Porno For Pyros. And last night (July 31), the original members — Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins and Peter DiStefano with Mike Watt (a member of PFP in 1996-1997) — delivered. The set took place in a Southern California backyard and was performed acoustically. They played their hit, “Pets” off their self-titled 1993 debut as well as “Kimberly Austin,” a deep cut from the 1997 sophomore LP Good God’s Urge. Following a sharing of their 2006 Hyde Park show from London, Foo Fighters are upping the ante in terms of re-airing their legendary shows. Today (May 7) comes Lollapalooza 2011 in Chicago’s Grant Park. As those were there will tell you, the set was fighting through torrential rain. “I don’t give a fuck if it’s raining tonight!” Dave Grohl said during the set. Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell appeared on stage during set closer “Everlong,” and the band also dedicated their song “Cold Day in the Sun” to Farrell.
