As a stylist for over 10 years, I’ve dressed women of all ages, sizes and backgrounds. And something I often get told is that they think they’re ‘”too old” to wear something. My reply? Wear whatever makes you feel good. Because wearing what you love will instantly give you the confidence to pull off any look. With that being said, though, there are some particular trends that I always believe work on absolutely everyone, no matter your age. Party season is in full swing, so to give you a helping hand, I’ve found five timeless looks that are guaranteed to work for every upcoming occasion in your busy diary. Whether it’s a black dress—my mum in her 60s, myself in my 30s and even my niece who is 8 owns one of these—a jum...
We’re nearing the end of 2022, which means our calendars are filling up with Christmas bashes, candlelit get-togethers and festive dinner parties. Pass the mulled wine, please. I don’t know about you, but I consider partywear to be one of the most exciting sartorial categories. It’s always nice to depart from one’s everyday uniform (for me, it’s jeans and a jumper) to get a little more dressed up. That being said, I’m reluctant to spend a lot of money on going-out attire; I prefer to invest in items I’ll wear regularly, and I always keep to a strict budget on the partywear front to ensure I don’t overspend or waste money. This is what led me to Marks and Spencer‘s website, where I was pleasantly surprise...

It felt like autumn happened almost overnight. One minute we were soaking up the heat in sundresses and sandals and the next, a fresh wind had set in heralding the official end of bare-legged season. But don’t get us wrong, this isn’t a lament to the end of summer, it’s actually a welcome to the next best thing. Autumn is the best time for dressing up and the official start to party season, and while you might be missing the heatwaves that dominated July and August, the new few months are about to be your best-dressed and cosiest yet. We love dressing up and heading out, and as our social calendars are steadily filling ahead of birthdays, dinners, Christmas and New Year, the first thing on the agenda is finding something to wear that will look go...
Countless exhibitions, a plethora of books, and many, many a Who What Wear UK article all serve as proof that the world has an infatuation with Princess Diana’s style. This year, our obsession reaches yet another peak thanks to Elizabeth Debicki’s spot-on portrayal of the beloved icon in the most recent season of The Crown. It’s clear, from the moment Diana stepped into the royal spotlight that her looks would be put under the sartorial microscope, however, the fascination still remains today. Looking back, it’s fair to say that she was one of the most progressive dressers of her time (not to mention lineage). You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. We’re really being spoiled with top-tier high-street collaborations at the moment. Last week saw & Other Stories pair up with über-cool designer A.W.A.K.E Mode and, launched today, is Mango’s latest collection with Camille Charrière—French It girl, original influencer and all-round modern-day style icon. Tapping into the excitement around the upcoming party season, her 60-piece, limited-edition edit is full of sparkle and velvet, with more than a sprinkle of nineties and noughties nostalgia added in for good measure. With less than two months until Christmas, it’s safe to talk about the festive season and all its style conundrums right? For me, when it come’s to party dressing I like to embrace a more polished version of my day-to-day look. I still want to look like myself, but just with some added sparkle. While I like a clean and classic look normally, the festive season is the time to add some glitz to my look, and as a self-confessed magpie, I often find drawn to silver gems, diamanté details and colourful sequins. I know I’m not the only one who falls into this category… Fortunately, this love of all things sparkly doesn’t mean I’m restricted to mini skirts, barely-there dresses and strappy tops. The most hardworking piece...
Last year, Zara stole the show with an eye-catching crop top that took the internet by storm. This cult piece was a little bit ’90s in the best possible way, and reminded me of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss’s iconic chain-mail dresses, but with a sleek bandeau silhouette and ultra-thin straps. Of course, the top sold out in record time (that’s Zara for you) but being the seasoned fashion editor I am, I had a hunch Zara would do the honourable thing and bring it back in a new guise for 2022. And this week, my premonition came true. This year, Zara has reimagined the sell-out piece to have more glitz, more glamour, and more colour. The checkerboard motif feels undoubtedly current, though I reckon I’ll be styling it in the same way that India of The India Edit did last year. W...
You’re currently reading Who What Wear—this tells me you like to know what’s in fashion and be ahead of the curve in terms of the trends. As such, I can only assume that you, too, are beginning to think about your party looks for the season ahead. Stats show that online searches for party dresses have taken a sharp incline, and we all know the best buys sell out quickly. I, for example, had my eye on a gorgeous midnight-blue velvet dress from Warehouse, which is already gone. Alas, I continue to work on myself, to grow and to learn from my mistakes, which is why I’ve decided to bring you the sleekest partywear from Mango, Zara and H&M now in an attempt to save you from the same disappointment I’ve recently experienced. You Deserve to Make Money Even When yo...
