‘Not surprised’ – Some West Ham fans react after hearing £25m transfer might not happen

Crystal Palace could make a late move for the Brentford winger Said Benrahma. West Ham had agreed a £25 million deal with the Championship club for the Algerian winger but it seems that the move is in danger of collapse now. Apparently the 25-year-old has fallen out with the Championship club’s hierarchy over broken promises. The attacker was all set to undergo a medical with West Ham after returning from international duty but the deal appears to be off now as per Mirror. Benrahma scored 17 goals for Brentford last year and he would have been a sensational signing for West Ham United. It will be interesting to see if Palace can agree on a deal with the Championship outfit and sign the Algerian before the window closes. The 25-year-old has the quality to improve most midtable clubs in the ...

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United are not good enough

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to criticism of the club’s activity, or lack thereof, in the transfer market following the loss to Crystal Palace. The legendary Norwegian watched on helplessly as his players frustratingly fell to a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford, much to the disgust of the fans. While many expected a difficult fixture, no one truly foresaw a comfortable win for Palace but it’s what transpired. The London club worked hard and took full advantage of the lack of minutes in United’s legs, though that’s no excuse for the performance. Naturally many supporters were calling even stronger for more signings to be made and it was something that was put forward to Solskjaer in the post-match press conference. Solskjaer’s comment is essentially the best way he ca...

Edo APC: Governor Obaseki recommended the dethroning of Uromi monarch in 2016

The APC Media Campaign Council for the Edo Governorship election has accused Edo State Governor Mr Godwin Obaseki of pursuing the sanctioning of the Ojuromi of Uromi, HRH Anselm Aidenojie II, when he accused him of trying to block his emergence as the next Governor of the State by allegedly backing the PDP in 2016. The APC campaign council, while condemning what it called the ‘divisive message’ of Governor Godwin Obaseki, at the Palace of the Ojuromi of Uromi, accused the PDP candidate of seeking to turn the people against each other to earn sympathy votes following his visible lack of achievements. Governor Obaseki, in his visit to the monarch earlier in the week, charged the king and the people of Uromi to rescue Edo State from the grip of ‘destructive people’. But in response to Governo...

Report: West Ham looking to sign former PL ace, Palace keen on £22m-rated player as well

West Ham and Crystal Palace are keen on signing the former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer. The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour at Juventus and the Italian club are looking to cash in on him. According to reports (h/t HITC), the Italian giants are set to demand around £22m for the central midfielder. It will be interesting to see if the likes of West Ham and Palace are willing to shell out that kind of money for them Welshman. Ramsey would add creativity and goals to the West ham midfield and he could prove to be a superb signing for the Hammers. However, his £400,000 a week wages could prove to be a massive problem for his suitors. The midfielder will have to take a pay cut in order to return to the Premier League this summer. West Ham could really use that extra bit...

IGP asks court to dismiss deposed emir Sanusi’s suit

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss a suit filed by the deposed Kano emir, Muhammadu Sanusi, over his banishment. Adamu in his preliminary objection, is arguing that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the fundamental rights enforcement suit. Sanusi was deposed following a resolution of the Kano State Executive Council on March 9, on allegations of insubordination. Following his sack, he was taken to Awe in Nasarawa State and detained in an apartment in the town until March 13 when he obtained an interim order of the court for his release from house arrest. The deposed emir in the substantive suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020 through his lead lawyer, Lateef Fagbemi, contested that his banishment and subsequent house arrest v...
