Fleeing Ibadan kidnap kingpin arrested in Ogun

A notorious kidnap kingpin, Usman Hassan, who escaped from Oyo State after killing one of his gang’s victims, has been arrested in Ogun State. Usman and his accomplices had earlier been arrested in Oyo State after they had kidnapped a farm owner at Solalu village, collected ransom and subsequently killed him He sneaked into Ogun State for cover and proceeded to recruit other Fulani men into a fresh kidnap ring, which he formed in the State. Woman hacked to death in Ibadan

A 42-year-old woman, Olusayo Fagbemi, has been reportedly murdered in the early hours of Wednesday by unknown assailants at Sasa community in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. Fagbemi was reported to have been killed while washing plates in front of her house around 5:40am. It was learnt that her neighbours were attracted to the scene by Fagbemi’s cry for help. On getting to the scene, she was seen struggling in the pool of her blood and later confirmed dead in the hospital. In the last three weeks, four females and a male – Mujeeb Tirimisiyu, Barakat Bello, Fagbemi, Grace Oshiagwu and Azeezat Shomuyiwa, have been gruesomely murdered in the area. NSCDC intercepts 70 travel ban violators in Oyo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, on Wednesday, intercepted 70 travellers for allegedly violating the ban on interstate traveling. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the travellers, who occupied three trucks, were intercrpted at 12:52 a.m. at Ogbomoso High School in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of the state. The state NSCDC Commandant, Iskilu Akinsanya, said that the affected travellers comprised of 69 males and one female. Akinsanya said the trucks with registration numbers, KBK 826 Kano, KTG 137 ZZ and AE61KKR were coming from Bauchi and Kastina States.
