Football Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has endorsed the final table of the Nigeria Professional Football League for the 2019/2020 season as prepared and released by the League Management Company. The Polymer Institute of Nigeria, PIN, has expressed worry over the poor disposal of non-degradable plastic wastes in Nigeria. The Imo state government Thursday said it has identified two persons, one Ohanaeze Collins and M.C Ameche, who are not pensioners but they led the pension protest in the state. The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri, warning that such people were mercenaries hired by politicians in the state to destabilize their government and that such action would not be tolerated again. The Minister for Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, on Tuesday, shocked the members of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) when he alleged that the suspended MD awarded about 332 different contracts worth about N4.448 billion in one day. Senator Ngige who appeared on the second day of the investigative hearing being Chaired by Hon Miriam Onuoha further revealed that the controversial contracts were awarded just two days after he left office as Minister in 2019. Suspected student lovers die in Imo after love making

The bodies of two lovers, Cynthia Obieshi, female, and Samuel Osuji, male, suspected to be students living around Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, at JMJ Bus Stop, have been found lifeless after the police broke into their room. The incident, which happened on Sunday, the police through the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Orlando Ikeokwu, in Owerri, said that following their preliminary investigation that the two lovers might have taken drugs.
