Plans are few and far between this year, with the usual December activities off the cards. In the lead-up to Christmas last year, I attempted to do my own advent of evening plans, saying yes to any invite that came my way. This year however my challenge is how many meals I can actually endure outside in December—heater or no heater. I never thought I’d be writing about the predicament of what to wear to dine outdoors in the winter (because who does that?), but it’s our reality in 2020, so here I am to give you some advice. First and foremost, it’s up to each of us to decide what level of risk we’re comfortable taking during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s the fashion update that I never would’ve predicted a month ago, but according to Lyst searches for sequin pieces have risen significantly over the last two weeks, with page views currently up 165%, alongside an 88% rise in searches for glitter and crystal-embellished shoes.
