The police in Lagos have arrested a socialite and Instagram celebrity, Mike Eze, aka Pretty Mike, for allegedly facilitating operations at Cubana Nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos State. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, while parading 172 persons arrested for flouting COVID-19 protocols after a raid on the nightclub, had called for the arrest of the owner. The chairman of National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP), Mohammed Ibrahim, says the federal government will launch a new pricing framework to regulate operations in the gas sector. He was speaking on Friday at the 12th Nigerian Gas Association international conference. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has commenced the distribution of relief materials worth N500 million to flood victims in eight Local Government Areas in Imo State. The operations, said the Head of Imo/Abia Operations of the agency, Evans Ugoh, is in fulfilment of the assurance from NEMA Director-General Mr Mohammed Mohammed that the agency will continue to support victims of disasters across the country. NDLEA intercepts container containing two million capsules of Tramadol in Apapa port
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the interception of a container load of Tramadol at the Apapa seaport in Lagos, just as 90 persons including an Indian were caught in its dragnet during raids of some drug cartels in parts of Lagos where a total of 614.396 kilograms of various hard drugs were reportedly seized. A breakdown showed that at the Apapa seaport, about two million capsules of Tramadol (precisely 1,994,400 capsules) tucked in 554 cartons were intercepted in the container, which was falsely declared to contain ceramic tiles.
