Ondo government reads riot act to cultists

Ondo State government has declared a clampdown on cultists and cult activities in the state. The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo, who disclosed this during a media briefing shortly after the State Executive Council meeting, warned parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against cultism. He said “the State Executive Council noted the activities of cultists and cult groups. As you know, Ondo state is not insulated from the menance of cultism. Ondo governor suspends NURTW, RTEAN, orders unions to vacate motor parks

Ondo State Government has suspended both the National Union of Road transport workers, NURTW, and the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria, RTEAN in the state. The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on special duties and strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale, said that the suspension was with immediate effect. Odebowale attributed the suspension to recent leadership crisis within the two unions He directed the leadership of both unions to vacate motor parks across the eighteen local government areas of the state and to stop collecting dues from taxi drivers and other motorists across the state. The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Saturday said the Yoruba people are a nation of hospitable, accommodating and warm people who believe in the oneness of Nigeria. Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has said that the murder of the first class traditional ruler in the state, the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Isreal Adewusi was an indication that the country was in a serious security crisis beyond the ordinary. Ondo gives 30 percent discount on inputs to farmers to ensure food security

The Ondo State Government on Sunday said it had provided discounted agricultural inputs as palliatives to farmers as part of measures to ensure food security in the state. Mr Akin Olotu, the Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Agribusiness, said this to newsmen in Akure. He said that the government also had put in place various interventions to cushion the effects of COVID-19 among farmers in the state . Ondo discharges five coronavirus patients

Ondo State Government said it has discharged five patients from its Infectious Disease Hospital after they tested negative for COVID-19. The five patients have been receiving treatment for COVID-19 infection. A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said the discharge of the five patients makes it 11 persons the state government has successfully treated for COVID-19. The statement reads: “This is to announce that five patients of the dreaded corona virus have been treated and discharged. “Against this backdrop, only four active cases are currently being monitored in accordance with prescribed globally-accepted protocols at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH)”.
