ODESZA Will Preview Their New Album at Coachella In a Trippy, 11,000-Square Foot Dome

In 2018, ODESZA made headlines with a jaw-dropping performance at Coachella, where hundreds of drones hovered above the stage to form the duo’s logo.  A lengthy four years later and nearly five since the release of their last studio album, A Moment Apart, ODESZA are finally ready to return to the desert—in the festival’s Antarctic Dome, that is. Powered by Coachella sponsor HP, ODESZA will preview music from their forthcoming album, The Last Goodbye, inside the immersive art installation.  As far as we know, ODESZA, who recently announced an expansive tour, won’t actually appear in the Antarctic Dome in-person. Their music, however, will serve as the soundtrack for a digital art showcase complete with 360° screens, surround-sound speakers and trippy 3D imag...

ODESZA Announce 2022 Amphitheater Tour

When rumors begin to swirl around a band’s album or touring plans, oftentimes the reality can be disappointing. Luckily for fans of ODESZA, the frenzy of speculation turned out to be better than they could have ever imagined. Coming to 25 cities across the United States and Canada this summer is ODESZA’s 2022 amphitheater tour, “The Last Goodbye,” which takes its name from the duo’s upcoming album. ODESZA will be taking the stage on a scale grander than any of their previous tours. In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of large-scale events, they have announced a partnership with the nonprofit REVERB in an effort to make the tour carbon-neutral or—ideally—carbon-negative. There will be a “REVERB Eco Village” at the shows to encourage fans...

The Grammy-nominated electronic music duo have announced a brand new album, The Last Goodbye, the fourth of their illustrious career and first since 2017’s A Moment Apart. “It’s done,” they tweeted on March 22nd.  “Over the past few years we’ve been able to reflect on who we are, what it means to do what we do, and in the end, who we are doing this for,” ODESZA said in a statement. “We became focused and inspired by the impact our families and friends have imprinted on us and how we want to continue to echo that out as we move through this life. We found comfort in the fact that those who we love stay with us, that they become intrinsically part of us, in a way.” The Last Goodbye...

Listen to ODESZA’s Stunning New Single, “Better Now”

After releasing their first new music since 2018 last month, it seems ODESZA are making up for lost time. The duo released a new single out of the blue this morning called “Better Now,” which features Portuguese singer-songwriter MARO. With its ambient soundscapes and textured production, the atmospheric track is signature ODESZA. It follows February’s momentous comeback single, “The Last Goodbye.” According to ODESZA, they trialed many different vocalists for “Better Now,” but ultimately sought out MARO. “It’s funny because we tried so many different collaborations with vocalists in varying genres to try to find the right fit for this song when we first made it, but for whatever reason nothing felt right,” ODES...

Watch ODESZA Rock Out In Cinematic Music Video for “The Last Goodbye”

The same goes for a new album, if today’s premiere is any indication. Livestreaming the video on YouTube, ODESZA built the hype in slow and painstaking fashion leading up to its premiere, intercutting snippets of ambient music with clips of the duo working in the studio. While they are yet to formally announce a new album—their first since 2017’s A Moment Apart—their activity in early 2021 has the feel of a smoke signal. Filmed...

The soulful electronic tune samples 1965’s “Let Me Down Easy” by fabled Detroit R&B singer Bettye LaVette, who is credited as a featured artist. “This song was born out of the concept of trying to bring these lasting, defining musical pieces like the 1965 release of ‘Let Me Down Easy’ by Bettye LaVette into a modern and contemporary electronic setting,” Odesza explained. “The idea of bringing two worlds together, that at first seem distant, has always been something we’ve been drawn to. It was an absolute honor to be able to work with ...
